I was there last night (in E11) and I think we actually played ok, I think we can put this performance down to nerves. Hobbs, Chester, Gulasci and Cairney (at times) all looked very nervous when on the ball which meant a lot of our passes started to go astray. Now, onto the main topic. The atmosphere I have to say was a lot better than normal, until Blackpool scored we were quite loud and vocal. However when they did score it all went wrong. Why do some people feel the need to shout, for example, "Hobbs your ****!" when the guy makes a mistake? Yes, people pay their money to watch football and can if they want but it does not help the player or the team. I think Fryatt, Hobbs and Simpson are all "confidence players" so having a go at them will not help them or the team whatsoever! I was particularly pissed off when Simpson missed and nearly all the South Stand started having a right old go at the player. Yes, it was a shocking miss, but get behind the lad and urge the team on, not start mouthing off at them.
Last year I was in West Stand, this year we have passes for East Stand, in the centre with a really good view but what amazed me was that after last season when a lot people had a go at West Stand supporters not being true supporters, not singing etc etc last night it was the East Stand supporters that were leaving in their droves 5 minutes before the game ended and what is seriously annoying is that a lot of the "true supporters" around me actually boo'd the team at the end of the match. I felt sorry for the players looking up at the supporters for support and being greeted by that. I hope they saw that a lot of us where clapping. Yes they lost but I thought overall they played well and hopefully the season will just get better. I am certainly not downhearted.
Yes, the booing and people leaving early is also disgraceful, even if we were frustrating to watch at the end of the match.
