Keep players fit and title charge on the way. A defence of the league cup would be ideal too. Keeping the first 11 fit likely to be extremely difficult with champs league however.
With the squad as it is now? 7th perhaps. It's really too early to be asking the question though, as we'll hopefully have some reinforcements arriving, the quality of which will need to be factored in to our guess work.
Way too early. If it’s the way it is now, we won’t finish top 8. There would be too many doubts from fans and players about ambition to keep it up. If the club genuinely strengthens its first XI with 2-4 excellent additions then we should aim for a brief title tilt and a top 4 finish.
Newcastle as things stand are likely to be bottom of the league after 2 games. There's no stadium news, no progress on the new training ground promised 4 years ago, no sponsorships, no loans from Saudi, no communication whatsoever since Staveley leaving, Ashworth ran for the hills , Mitchells running, Howe's been publicly puffing his chest out like a quail for years, there's no replacement DoF, a cock swinging power struggle is taking place, we've had failure after failure in the last 3 transfer windows and I'm sensing things could implode on and off the pitch this season. There's something not right off the pitch and people are trying to brush off the endless indicators. I suspect the clubs for sale or something at this point.. There's something significant going on whatever it is. It's not unreasonable to at least question things at this point surely ?
