The midweek results prove just what a topsy turvy league the Championship is. Norwich losing at home to Luton Us winning at WBA Millwall stuffing Watford Sheffield United losing at Coventry Wigan being hammered at home by Middlesbrough Swansea have won 6 out of their last 8 games and are right in the mix now The likes of Burnley don't lose many games but they've drawn 8 of their matches so far As proved by Swansea, any team who can just get a little consistency going in their results has to be in with a chance, as unlike last season there is no Fulham or Bournemouth to run away with promotion. Can we find the kind of consistency that's needed and mount any sort of challenge for the top 2 or the top 6 ?
Such an odd start to this season across the division. Look at the league table on the BBC site that shows the last 5 games, and everybody but Sheff Utd has at least 1 win in their last 5 games. Almost every team has a game in hand on us, so the worst case once that evens up is, we are 18th, but would still only be 6 points from 6th place. It already looks like this season will go to the wire at both ends of the table.
I think Coventry are a far better team than their league position suggests and they also have 3 games in hand over most other teams Looking at the table, if they win their games in hand they’ll be a point ahead of us
