there would be a temptation to just say the Revie team but who gets into our best ever list. Again simple 4-4-2 so billy wont be number 4

    1 martin
    2 Gary Kelly
    3 Dorigo
    4 John Charles
    5 the chief
    6 billy
    7 Strachan
    8 Arthur Graham
    9 Yeboah
    10 viduka
    11 E. Gray

    12 Harvey
    13 Speed
    14 Kewell
    15 bobby collins
    16 A. Clark

    Manager ..Wilko
    Owner. Fotherby

As a kid I remember Arthur Graham, Joe Jordan, Gordon McQueen and Trevor Cherry being my favourite four. I'm not saying they were the best, just names that stuck in my head.

Radebe in at CB and Strachan at 7 for me, my favourite LB was Dorigo and RB Sterland.

Radebe, Dorigo and Sterland in for now.
    Arthur Graham possibly?
Think Jordan is down the pecking order given the strikers we have had ...Chapman and jimmy floyd piggybank would be in the mix.

Mcqueen? I included Kewell... How many traitorous bastards can one team have?

Revies team is not excluded.. Whilst they might have been the best team I am suggesting they may not be the best players.

We have a team now. Feel free to tinker...
It would cost a few quid to assemble at todays prices.

We have never played a pony at right back. But have had plenty of cart horses in various positions.

Totally agree about mel Sterland, fast with pin point accurate crosses, usually finding lee chapmans head,so many goals scored that way.Sadly career finished way to short due to a bad injury:emoticon-0101-sadsm

Come to think of it what about Lee Chapman, very deadly finisher in and around the six yard area, hopeless further out,but can't think of anyone at the moment who was a more clinical finisher.

Who would be captain. I would prefer not to let the players decide.

Sterland was much better than Kelly, I think so anyway.

Captain Billy or Strachan a very tough one.

Chapman I could never take too, for me Hasselbaink, Yeboah, Charles, Clarke, Lorimer and Viduka are all miles ahead of Chapman, he wouldn't even make my reserve team.

Whilst looking for reminders I found this footage. We lost but three points.
    1) How badly we defended
    2) Their second goal, watch our defender nearly take the guy heading the balls head off, how close was that (slow mo replay shows it better)
    3) The ref blowing the final whistle, looks like someone's grandad
