Who’d have thought you bowl spinners and we get wickets.

root will get lot of credit for his bowling but his captaincy this test has been terrible. Starting with team selection to only play 1 proper spinner and then having watched India’s spinners rip through us (their 2 fast bowlers bowled 11 overs) he continued to bowl Anderson broad archer and stokes for 27 overs with their only wicket coming from a big slog top edge from fast ball.

why would you play 3 fast bowlers in India anyway but at least then have the captaincy skills to recognise you’ve made an error and change your plans rather than stick with it

 

It's as if he's playing 4-3-3 and won't adapt to circumstances.

 

stokes has got it. hes going to hammer 30 or 40 before he gets done.
