It must be football day because it was a damp walk today, that horrible drizzly stuff that soaks right in so it was good to get back home.

I think the week on not606 has typified where we are in the season, what is a fairly big few days of football ahead but we have talked more about a past manager and Newcastle than we have about our games, this must be what its like to be safe in April.

We know we have 7th spot to play for, we know it means extra cash and prestige, we want to get fired up about it, but we seem to be finding we cant.

MON is saying all the right things but are the players in our frame of mind, they want to but, well maybe they cant, all will become clear today.

I will be starting my match day build up soon with shower and shave, even a lunch time kick off cant change that routine, so enjoy your day, try not to pinch to many of the kids Easter eggs,I know you do, and we will meet late to hopefully talk about 3 more points won.

Earlier start today so only a swift three quarters of a gallon before the match. 2 hours and 3 points later, hopefully, back to pub to repeat.

There is everything to play for Syd and yes, being safe with a 5th of the season still to play is a bit unusual for us.

Under any other manager the temptation for both fan and player to just 'go through the motions' until May is huge but somehow, I don't see Marty doing 'going through the motions', do you?

For him, these last 7 games are vital. He will see how hungry, ambitious his inherited squad really is now and how much some players really, really want to be here. He will be formulating his game plan for next year starting today. Will we see Gordon, Wickham, Meyler and Killgallon make their mark? Interesting weeks ahead for me.

I'm looking forward to todays game as if a top 4 place depended on it for us not Spurs. Football under Mon is just a completely enjoyable experience and as you know, he was the one I have wanted for many years. We have him now and he hasn't disappointed thus far.

I don't see him starting to with a lethargic final run in. Do you?

Where-as usually i would have a slight smirk about your weather, today i'm unable to, as we had been hit with a storm, but the staff are happy as they all got the day off..............

So enjoy the match, and roar the lads on....

I'love the earlier kick-offs as it means it doesn't start at daft o clock....
