Was really pleased that Jose is at the very least going to take a good look in preseason. Think he is already up on Marin and Moses.
Interesting! Am I correct in thinking that PL rules state that we have to have 8 homegrown players in our squad. I can only assume that this means promotion of at least 2 young lads (I can't see both PVA and Bertrand in the 25 and I'm not sure who Jose prefers). Chalobah and Ake would be my choices. The other possibility, of course, is that we will buy one or two players with HG status. Not much speculation at the moment as to who these could be. Also interested to see who will be the back up 'keepers next season. Blackman?
It's a bit misleading to say you have to have 8. You can have 0 if you want but that would mean your squad is only 17 players and under 21's. Rather than say you have to have 8 HG players it's more accurate to say you are only allowed 17 Non HG over 21 players. Last year we had 6 HG which limited our squad to 23 and U21's.
Didn't we have 8 HG? Turnbull, Terry, Cole, Mikel, Bertrand, Lampard, Cahill and Moses. Thought the rule was just that? At least 8 home grown and the rest not HG (up to 25) with any number of u21, regardless of HG status, as they are not counted toward the 25?
No, as I said you don't have to have any if you don't want but that would mean you had a very small squad or a lot of U21's. The rule is very badly named. It really means you can't have more than 17 foreign trained players over 21. You are not required in any way to have HG players.
That would mean lots of signings would have to be made. As long as the core isn't disrupted I don't mind. All of those are bit part contributors.
Moses - Least likely to leave for me but Jose may not fancy him Marin - Schurrle is already in for him Torres - A big name striker, Lewandowski hopefully Mikel - Jose is definitely going to bring in centre midfield reinforcements, very likely to be Van Ginkel Ba - A third choice striker, I would not mind a move for someone like Bony or Morata Out of those 5 only Torres or Ba is a starter and its the main improvement to the squad. Also think we may sign a centre back
Blimey! This one's flying out of the traps pretty fast! Just got back after a holiday break, so I'll have to ponder over this for a while before I make my view!
As an outsider and only watching the live games on Sky/ESPN plus the 50 minuet highlights on football first every week i would say that Moses is one of your best impact/game changing players and you would be daft to get rid of him. He is not a starter though given the players you have.
Right---Lukaku must be in the 25!!! McCeachran seems to have not lived up to his early promise! Was awful in his England U21 last week!
