1200: FOOTBALL - England centre-back Michael Dawson tells the Spurs website that reports of him being unsettled at White Hart Lane are unfounded. Dawson has come out straight away and said that what was printed about him being unsettled at Spurs is crap. This is what Modric needs to do now.
levy is to blame. if he agreed to let modric leave if one of the big boys came asking and he's back tracking on it..he's always come across as a sly sneaky bastard
If it was agreed then it would of been written into Modric's contract. Verbal agreements mean nothing in football.
Levy is not a sly sneaky bastard.....he is a business man who knows when not to sell his best assets. I'm sure Modric made a verbal agreement and a hard copy agreement to stay with Spurs for another 6 yrs.
Was the article in The Daily Fail? Apparently, the lazy hack journo who wrote that article was on Talk Sport today. I missed the actual interview, but in light of Daws vehement denial that he said anything of the sort, the Talk Sport hosts were left trying to defend the journo (and their own tendency to deal in unsubstantiated gossip). When it was pointed out to the presenters that Daw's comments mean that the lazy hack journo had been proven to be a liar and a scumbag, they tried their best to defend him, claiming that "it's not easy when you hear stories through sources, knowing what the truth is." I beg to differ, however. Actually it's all too easy. Unless you hear the news from either the player himself, his club, or his officially appointed agent, then it isn't news. See! So easy, isn't it!
Fair play to him hasn't let the story grow legs came straight out and said its bullsh*t ,story finished. Now when is the bull over Gareth Bale going to start I've been waiting all summer
Bale is going to Citeh to replace Madrid-bound Tevez, despite the two of them playing completely different roles, RS. It'll be in the papers tomorrow, probably.
The Fail is rapidly becoming one of the worst rags for unsubstantiated rubbish. A bit like The Little Boy who Cried Wolf, nobody is going to take any notice of them soon.
Levy said they would talk about it. They talked. He is not going. Talk over promise kept. Levy did not promise he would release him. It is his agent who is to blame, if anybody. If I gave somebody a percentage of my wages to look after my interests, I would want that sort of stuff written into my contract.
It's not even about his agent, in my opinion. Modric didn't even seem interested in talking about a move at the end of last season, but then a certain Kia Joorabchian showed his face...
Modric seems to have made 2 fundamental errors; 1. Not having the agreement written into his contract. 2. Thinking Levy was a man with a shred of decency or honour.
Modric didn't come out and say it was true. He came out and stated that if it was right for the club and right for him that he should move. It's not right for the club.
3. Making up random **** to get a move. 4. Being tapped up by Chelsea. 5. Not being loyal, like Toure, Adebayor, Fabregas, Nasri, Clichy...
