..when you dip below your performance levels and think your better than you are !!

Well played Everton, totally deserved the win, no complaints from me. I thought we lacked passion for the game today, as soon as Everton came with the game plan of chasing us down our boys didnt fancy going the extra yard to compensate, an easy win for the Toffees and proof that if players think they are something special then im afrais they are wrong.

Difficult to pick out our lot for stick because they have been awesome lately, the credit should go to Everton, the big worry for me is that this looks like a second season scenerio !! We were out battled and out thought in the first game against these boys and Buck looked like he learnt nothing from the experience, that is a big worry because Everton have today produced the template for Victory, rodgers didn't seem to have any answer and throwing on 3 subs was just a purely reckless move IMO.

That smacked of him being completly out of ideas, the plus point is that Brenden is a bright guy and you learn more from defeats than you do Victory, we were 2nd best all over the field and Everton gave us a stark reminder of what happens when you come up against teams that do their homework on you!!

If this was a game that needed us to gain points im afraid the result would have been the same, luckily for us points are pretty much in the bag, the players wern t up for a fight and i suspect many are looking forward to a well earned holiday.

Buck will learn alot im sure some of the players will too, a reality check to where we actually are in this league ,we were lucky it was only 2 like Fulham got a hammering last week,we got the same treatment today!!

Well done Everton, it could be a look into how our second season will go if the manager doesn't pick up some knowledge from these 2 Everton games, back down to earth with a bump !! <laugh>

Don't disagree, Norway. Out-thought, out-fought and out-played by Moyes (a la Lambert). Both Norwich and Everton adopted similar tactics of chasing us down and not giving our players time on the ball and as always it worked, so credit to them. <applause>

On the other hand we were also poor all over the pitch. At times, when not even being pressed, our players were misplacing passes and looked very un-Swansea-like.

This is the sort of thing that can happen in the Prem. Moyes and his boys have been around for a while and what's clear is that our players, and in particular our manager have a lot to learn. Like Martinez, he is praised for the way we play and rightly so, but also like his predecessor he just doesn't have a plan B. Can anyone disagree?

Everton did just what they needed to do and were comfortable winners. As sharp as we were last week we were lethargic and sloppy this week. Not an acceptable level performance. Whatever BR expected to happen after the subs never did; we lost all shape.

As for MacEachran .... Does this kid have a sprint gear - not being fascitious, I really don't think he knows how to go faster than jog. We woud have got more fight from Gower.

McEachran has been the biggest disappointment of the season for me. Enough is enough. Send him back. I'm sure the lad is talented but he's not showing it with us so bye bye.

Agree totally that Everton did what they do best, hard to break down, and did us on the counter! It could/should have been more than 2!

Only player to come out of the game with a bit of credit was Vorm. We never worked Tim Howard, how many times did he actually touch the ball not that many. Our passing was beyond poor, never seen us misuse the ball so many times, even Leon's passing was off. Our winger never really got at them, not sure what Sinclair is up to these days, can't get round a man. Routledge tried but when having the opportunity he cut backwards. Need Dyer back for next weeks tough match.

Not sure WHAT our defence was doing, Ash was all over the shop, gave a poor free kick away for them to get there first.

Just have to put it done as a bad day at the office. Need to bounce back and start another run, Spurs will be more suited to us, perhaps get our first away big scalp.

    Onwards and Upwards gents!!!!!!

dominated the first half but just 3 shots on target all game, everton deserved the 3 points today. a good entertaining game but lack of finishing up front with us cost us the match. wigan beat liverpool as well, still we are not going to win every game at home we play whatever fans think. we are still in the top half in 10th.....

I think this is your only real concern from whats been an amazing season for you guys. Clearly there is a way to nullify your style, and when it works, Brendan needs to form a good plan B, because i'd be surprised if other teams don't come to the liberty trying to play a similar style.

But hey, its not a bad result, so here's to being safe on 39 points, flying high mid table! We've both been amazing, now final bragging rights for highest promoted side? race you for it... What a season eh? Think i need to wake up already:emoticon-0103-cool:

If we go to Spurs and perform it will prove to me that the players ducked this game ! i hope we arnt saving ourselves for the glamour clubs when it comes to our performances, that would be unfair to everyone.

To say it was just a bad day is unfair on Everton, where Norwich got a bit lucky in parts Everton smashed us all over the park, they wern't even dirty like alot of other teams have been, they just looked better in every dept.

Rodgers had no idea how to change and in fairness our bench doesnt offer much except more of the same! i felt the players gave up on occasion, not all of them but a few and i guess we can forgive them the odd shocker. If teams play like Everton against us then we wouldnt be able to buy a win in this league, luckily for us Everton are just 2-3 players away from challenging for champions league again, it shows why moyes is so highly rated, his team can pass, play proper football, play ugly and be tough in short they cover every base needed in this league, the only suprise to me after watching that is why the hell arnt they higher in the league??

We got exactly what we deserved today, well done Everton,we wern't at the races, valuable lessons to be learned re application, focus and learning not to take teams lightly. We looked lethargic at times and that might be down to a little bit of believing the hype, still as i say lessons to be learned ,today doesn't make us a bad team and the league table proves we are a good side and quick learners

I quite agree bongo, we have shown we can deal with the premier when we apply ourselves 100% in fairness rodgers has always said this and there was more evidence of it today, it will be intresting to see how we go in the next few games, will more teams try to play this way ? my thoughts are that most teams dont have Evertons players(thankfully) im sure that most teams try to apply the same lambert/moyes tactic against us ,just that some can do it better than others ,next season the league will be stronger and hopefully so will we.

I must quickly mention scott sinclair, his touch seems to getting worse and he is losing the ball more than any other player, his only safe pass is a return back to taylor who moves it back inside, there is no variation from him and im sure if i can it so can other managers and players, it means that oppositon midfield will start to read our play, he is getting double tracked quite often but only when we enter the attacking 3rd, also taylor should be taking advantage of that situation alot more and moving past sinclair more than he does, all in all its not an article to have a go at the players, they have been brilliant overall, but as mentioned above a few heads not into it today, i credit Everton for that, strangely the last performance against Everton was very similar, lessons must be learnt, these teams like Norwich and Everton are the final hurdle in Brendens coaching ethos, he has to learn to overcome them.

In fairness to McEachran , has he really had any sort of chance really . Unless were prepared to start him a few games in a row , I wouldn't be expecting to much from him . The bright side was Caulker's passing & movement again , boy would I like to get him for good .

Has to be said.......I have never come across such horrid fans as the Everton ones today. I'm North stand, right by the barrier and they reduced a 12 year old Swans fan to tears.

I didn't see what started it, but the young lad was 5 seats across from the segregation barrier, and approx 30 Everton fans were pointing at him, calling him a ****er, cnut, tosspot, sheep shagger and that they knew where he lived. His father (I pressume) did his best to stick up for the boy and eventually the stewards got involved.

They then decided to start on a 70+ year old Swans fan, giving slit throat gestures his way all because he cheered when an Everton player missed an over head kick. There's banter, and there's song, and then there's Everton fans. Horrible, vile specimens. No other words for it.

They were pigs at Goodison too, worst set of fans all season, they could learn a lot from their neighbours in red. I saw a group of their fans giving grief to a few local youngsters before the game, they weren't so brave when adults got involved in the argument.

Must add that I'm not tarring all Toffee fans with the same brush, but alot of them today were total tossers.

Dilli, why doesn't that surprise me. Like to think they are hard when it's someone smaller/younger than them.

Well beaten today. No complaints. That is two matches against Everton with hardly a sniff at goal. It clearly wasn't working and BR was right to make the subs, but the second goal went in before they had a chance to make an impression and it was game over.

I wouldn't say it was a bad day at the office (because we get wound up when other fans/managers say that!) - it was just that Everton were better than us.

    Up the Jacks!
