How do we feel about how the season is going?
Personally I feel very happy with the progress so far. Only managed to make 2 home games so far and in those games I feel we've equipped ourselves well. The Cheltenham match was more difficult than I think many people expected but we were only really put under pressure when we went a man down. Still this time last season we would have crashed and burned under that pressure. The Plymouth game was probably the best time to play them and we were never under any real threat from them. Away from home we've picked up 4 points from 3 games I would certainly have taken that at the start of the month.
Unfortunately there are still a few issues that are unlikely to be addressed like a lack of pace all over the team, lack of strikers and a lack of any real width.
The new signings are looking good which is great and I have been very impressed with Kedwell. Working up top on your own is a very difficult job and he's doing it as well as I've ever seen lone striker do. He will surely benefit from a good strike partner, if only fate hadn't of hit us with Birchall's cruel injury in pre season.
One thing I was worried about preseason was our capability to last the match but this hasn't been so. If we can carry on consistently performing we should be up there come the end of the season.
Comparing the progress to this time last season there has been a massive improvement. Well done to all the team. I'll happily take 3 wins a draw and a loss in every 5 games.
