Lee is still the top Cat for Mart Published: Today MARTIN O'NEILL has no plans to strip Lee Cattermole of the Sunderland captaincy despite his arrest in connection with an alleged car-wrecking spree outside Newcastle's St James' Park. Cattermole and team-mate Nicklas Bendtner have been bailed after being questioned by police. O'Neill has not decided whether to field the pair at Tottenham tomorrow but if Cattermole â who missed last weekend's win over Blackburn because of suspension â plays it will be as skipper. The new boss said: "At this minute, I don't see any reason to change that. The team played well against Blackburn but we might change things round, I don't know at the moment. "If someone gets left out of the team after Sunday's performance, they should consider themselves unfortunate. "If Lee plays in the team, he will be captain. I stress, at this minute, I don't see any reason to change it. "Lee is as wholehearted as they come. Even in the little training sessions that we've had, he's vociferous. We might have, generally, a quiet team, but that isn't really unusual any more." Dane Bendtner â on a season's loan from Arsenal â played in a behind-closed-doors game at Sunderland's training ground this week in a bid to prove his fitness after missing the Blackburn game with a thigh problem. I suppose the key words are highlighted
These charges should be dropped on a technicality, if the alleged offence is supposed to have taken place outside St James' Park,or yards from it, correct me if I'm wrong but there's no such place as St James' Park now is there? honestly, these black and white coppers will stop at nothing.
