Patterson impressed me, with his and Baldock's running we looked to much for them to handle. Think we've all mentioned before JET's best position is behind the front two and tonight proved that.
If Patterson is out of contract I wouldn't be upset if we bought him and possibly (even though not his best game) we signed Elliott on a one year deal.

It looked like we were up for the task tonight and although it has been a long time coming I know everyone on this site is a happy camper tonight. Take a look at my thread on my thoughts for tonight's results - not bad eh!

Christ i was banging on about jet behind two for months and months, cotts has found his position.

If we can keep Baldock,Jet,and sign Patterson there will be no better front three in this league.
Watch us go next year if Cotts can keep these three.

Great performance tonight. Maybe 4-0 at half time flattered us but we were well worth the lead. Sublime free kick from JET who had decided that he wanted to play tonight. Man if the match for me though was Elliott. He was everywhere, from the first whistle and his through ball for Baldocks 2nd was superb.

It's a shame Elliott is 35 and not 25, then could get a few good years out of him. Agree about JET play him in his best position FFS I was reminded last night that we did the same with Trundle and wasted £1,000,000 by regularly playing a goal scorer out of position. Fabulous result but I wouldn't be a Red if I didn't have something to moan about! Why Barnett? and why oh why wait so long to bring Burns on, we were 4-0 up?
Big plus point was seeing Kelly back on the pitch. What with Bobby Reid and Joe Bryan to come back from injury, bench is looking really healthy.

Told you guys - my fiver is on us winning it next term
But we must buy Elliott and Patterson !!!!!
All in all, we have much to thank Cotterill for

    Rotherham must be crapping themselves

both are available for free next season. Should sign Elliott up on a year contract and Nosworthy also on a year. Both will be free, Patterson, depending on how he does till seasons end, could get a 2/3 year deal. All 3 can replace, Fontaine, Pearson, Barnett.

'If we can keep Baldock,Jet,and sign Patterson there will be no better front three in this league'

Thought Patterson and Baldock's movement was brilliant and the partnership with Jet behind augers well.
Playing this way you need 2 midfielders for 'insurance'.
Elliiot was excellent and for me Pack was outstanding, his passing, pressing and aerial challenges stood out.

Osbourne looks by far our best CH and a back 3 set up worked successfully again.
Hope Cotterill doesn't bring in ElAbd this w/e.

PS - RODney, I know he's returning from injury but did you think your mate Kelly was Vale's best player.
Steady RODney, but seriously he looks as though he's a 'way off' starting.

Patterson and Baldock were dropping off the centre backs with the other running in behind - horrible for them to defend

If Pack keeps up his performances and we sign Elliott for a year, Kelly will struggle to get into the team.... Which is a good thing for us, I think we need a flairy winger though. Someone with a bit of excitement and skill. Other than that, I don't think we really need to add in the summer. 2 maybe 3 players is all we need.

Couldn't make it down last night due to a work commitment.

What the same Elliott you rubbished earlier on in the season. I think he has been the reason results have changed. And last night in my opinion was not his best game.

Kelly like Shiny said if Pack and Elliott keep him out is only a good thing for us. I won't judge Kelly this season as I thought he looked a bit rusty but he was nipping at their heals and forcing them back only to nearly gift them a goal with that rash pass.

But I'm not the only one who thinks he's a good player, but then again I don't judge players on one performance like you did with Elliott <laugh>

And also I know you park in the ground, if your the one driving a white jag that nearly ran me over last night, you might find your car has these mysterious scratches on it next time you do it <laugh>
