THAT Shearer Ad.

I'm guessing some of you boys and girls have seen the Shearer ad by now.

I'll openly admit that when I watch it I get a lump in my throat as I remember the beginning of my love affair with the Toon.

As hard as it was to see my Mackem dad look on as his young bairn defected to the 'dark side' before he got to his teens..It kinda reminds me of just WHY.

As bad as things are now. I reckon a ST will be like a passport to me in that I just have to have one and always will.

Back to the ad....

Some folk know how to press the right buttons, but as an old romantic... And cynic... It's not too bad to just remember the good times and smile from time to time surely?

The Shearer/Barclays Advert was first aired on the evening of the 28/02/2015 after NUFC's 1-0 win at home to Villa

Since it first aired NUFC have failed to win a single game! We need to get this advert taken off of the air as soon as feasibly possible

 

Would be nice to see the ending of the ad where the kids gives the ticket back to Shearer and says "nah Alan, who'd want to watch the shower of ****e?"

 

Pretty sure we've not picked up a point since that ad started running. Shearer taking us down again?

Remember when Dalglish was manager and had the BT advert, we never won another game after that.

 

Barclays have lost the premier league sponsorship, so they're giving away free-tickets etc while they can. Decent of a bank really!

 

All we need now is for them to stop fixing LIBOR rates and we be in good shape!

 

There's a parody on youtube somewhere where an adult toon fan shouts through the letterbox '**** off Alan man, i'm not going'.

It's my lads turn this weekend for his first taste and despite the state of our club I'm really looking forward to it.

 

I don't have kids, but I can't imagine many more pleasurable experiences in life than taking your son to his first game - and all the games after tbh. It won't matter the team, the score, the politics or whatever, the lad will love it and remember it forever, and he will no doubt be "gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love".

I can't even describe how much I hate that **** advert.

I have to say since his football career has been over, I find Shearer to abit of a clitwart amd a vile Carver rimmer. None of which appeal to me.

Nooo...The advert is a curse on you lot and should not be taken off air until the end of the season..

 

I think this is a bit creepy that you would find it a pleasurable experience taking ACS son to the football. I am ringing Operation Yewtree now. However if you really want a child to take to the game you can have mine. He is a Man Utd supporter and just takes the piss out of Newcastle whenever we go to watch - the twxt.
