One of the best goals I've ever seen. Would have been stunning on the half volley, but to hit it like that on the volley when it was so low to the ground is such a sublime technique. That will go down as one of the best ever Champions League goals. The reaction from Sanogo and Szczesny said it all .. utter disbelief

Any CL goals better than this ?

Everything was timed to perfection. It was a beautifully poised, graceful strike. Magic.

A goal that justified the boys class when he is on form. Could watch it over and over...

Was a staggering goal. Zidane's in the final and Bale's 3 against Inter are the only ones I recall to compare with it <whistle>

The most amazing for me was that he scored that goal with his weaker foot.

I suspect he no longer has a weaker foot. I'd struggle to reach the goal with my left foot from there.

Yeah, he is pretty two footed, it's one of the things that gives him an edge over Wilshere for me, who uses his weaker foot to just stand one.

Agree with this. I'd recently put a fully fit and in form Wilshere over a fuly fit and on form Ramsey, but I think I'd switch. What Ramsey does so well is giving the team goals from MF. Wilshere is a little maestro but Ramsey is more direct. If he can stay fit and regain his form from last season then Ramsey can still get 10-15 goals from Midfield this season and help us push on.

I think one of the reasons Ramsey has not repeated the form of last year is because of Sanchez, as crazy as that sounds. Sanchez often goes into the space that Ramsey was using to score all those goals last season. Those two have not quite worked out how to play in the same team. Ozil and Ramsey for example had a much better relationship on the pitch. I do not think it was a coincidence that Ramsey put in his best performance of the season, when Sanchez was out of the side.

Yeah good observation. I also think it's got a lot to do with Giroud being out. What Giroud does well is hold the ball up and bring other attacking players into the fold. Ramsey was on the end of so much of Giroud's link up play last season, making runs into the area for Giroud to slot the ball into his path. What's great about Ramsey though is that when he finds his shooting boots and his confidence he almost becomes unplayable and can score all sorts of goals from different areas of the pitch. The goals against Gala were a good example of this, one nicely slotted into the far corner out of reach of the keeper and the other an absolute rifle with such amazing technique.
