Overused, we’ve stepped back a little from doing it all the time. Use it as an element of surprise not all the time. Same player same rub the ball down same run up but alternate short or long and they don’t know which way to go.The long throw is a valid tactic and a useful weapon to have in your arsenal.
I don’t know why some people hate it so much.

I was there forgot that oneWe scored from the long throw at Reading away

I think we identified it was a weakness of theirs against Stoke. In fairness we haven’t used it too much recently, I don’t mind it used occasionally, just not all the time.Overused, we’ve stepped back a little from doing it all the time. We need to get points at the moment regardless of looking good. I take your point though, like watching paint dry at times. Now we have to resort to Gas football. City spent three minutes of the game drying the ball. City are **** to watch. Really ****.
Sorry but I don't get it.I think we identified it was a weakness of theirs against Stoke. In fairness we haven’t used it too much recently, I don’t mind it used occasionally, just not all the time.
For the same reason you don’t want to just lob the ball forward to a big target man, the opposition know what you’re going to do, it’s ok, but you need different options.Sorry but I don't get it.
If you have a player who can launch the ball into the box from a throw-in then why not use it? It's like having a free kick or a corner. It would be madness not to use it - it would be like using a corner kick to pass back to the defence!!!
How often is it close to the player it’s aimed for?Sorry but I don't get it.

I know even corner kicks are played short sometimes, but not very often - and usually when winding the clock down at the end of a game.
The long throw (IMHO) is a useful tactic that changes the advantage of a throw-in into that of a free kick.
probably the most difficult aspect, guess it is get it in box and anything can happen .. personally would aim for middle edge of 6yd box!How often is it close to the player it’s aimed for?
I honestly don't know - I'm assuming from your comment that it's not very often. How often is it close to the player it’s aimed for?

I don't get that logic, it's like saying only do a long corner, or a free-kick from the wing every now and again to surprise them. The end result is the same for all 3 delivery methods, it's a ball into the area to contest?
They have slightly more accuracy when taking free kicks and corners and do mish mash them. Far post, front post, edge of the box etc. the throw is quite a loop throw. That ex Derby long throw specialist was very low and difficult to defend against. I do like the long throw as it’s useful but to keep doing the same thing is predictable.I don't get that logic, it's like saying only do a long corner, or a free-kick from the wing every now and again to surprise them.
