Have to say I think Crouch's was slightly better lads even though Jimmy was one of my boyhood favourites -

Great days indeed Waddo, Jimmy G for me, but then I am massively biased!!! Sir James used to do that sort of thing quite frequently, or does my memory fail me, I remember one in the mud, or rather several in the mud, the ball must have weighed 3 tons!!.

Crouchy's goal was magnificent an absolute screamer, I would have loved to have been at the Brit for that.

All the best to everybody

Nick

Waddo and Nicky
I was at BOTH games and for me Couche's was better apart from the weight of the ball lol.

Nicky, it WAS without a SHADOW of doubt the loudest atmosphere EVER at the Brit and we've had plenty in the past. I Swear the Boothen End roof was shaking the WHOLE Stadium sang Delillah and even the Citeh fans we're applauding... Totally awesome to be there and I'm so pleased for the younger fans who will not remember SIR Jimmy scoring that fantastic goal... and

Waddo do you remember Jimmy scoring a goal like that v Man Utd a night game at the Vic or was it Conroy? Very similar but lower and it fizzed into the net... may have been a Cup game cos I'm sure I had to take time off work to be there.?.. Either way as Nicky say's.

Happy days.

All the best Nicky <cheers> Hope you are doing OK mate!

Click on Waddo's link mate and watch that West Sham game... notice the pitch more mud than grass but we played some great football back then. I wonder how Barcca would have managed on pitches like that? Men we're men and they we're tough player's, then there's Denis Smith. LEGEND

Yes indeedy Potts, I thought Dave MacKay was the hardest man I ever saw, then along came Denis Smith!!!! Mackay only recovered from 2 broken legs, Denis did all that and more, the best manager Stoke NEVER had!!

As for me mate, after the latest MRI scan, another Op on my spine scheduled in April, not too happy bout it, but the alternative is not acceptable - there it is!!!

Hope you OK after your last visit to the Doc's mate? Supporting Stoke City is bad for your blood pressure!!

There should be a Government Health Warning on every season and home game ticket.

Well all the best Nick from ALL of us on here <ok>
Give those Nurse's the runaround lol. Hope all goes well.

As for Denis Smith hardest man I've even seen.. Just fancy, Mackay, Norman Hunter and our Denis nothing would have gotten past them.

My blood pressure is OK matie until the next wonder goal by Mr Crouch. I tipped he would score 15 this season remember I think it was Smither's posted a link sometime back? ONLY 3 more and he may even better than? Crouch for England sounds good to me and they could do a lot worse IMO.

When that volley went in it was like mahem in the Boothen End even My missus enjoyed it!

Take care Nick <ok>
