Well well well said th elephant when he came to three holes I dont think Evans was trying to hurt the player nor do I think he is a disgrace yet this was far worse than carra's tackle, a studs out over the ball very dangerous leg braking tackle. Something for all you mancy mancs to think on.
Hmmm. Silly Scouser. Evans and Holden both slide for the ball. Evans clearly plays the ball but his foot is off the ground (but not high) and the follow through hits Holden's knee. It was clumsy but not malicious. Carraghers tackle was high and landed half-way up Nani's standing leg, and if not deliberate then just donkeyesque clumsy. The chanting 'fergie's right' was great
Does anyone know the extent of Holden's injury? It was a red card. So was Carraghers. Carragher got away with it. Evans didn't.
From the looks of it, Holden's injury was similar to Nani's - a gashed leg. The gash didn't look that wide, and I didn't see them give him oxygen, so I assume they aren't worried about a break. Guess we'll find out how bad it is when they try to stitch it. Thought you guys were unlucky today - that's as well as anyone has played at OT this season. Although I can't believe Cahill got away with that awesome save in the first half!
Was away on a stag do in Krakow over the weekend (great craic) so didn't see our game. Saw the highlights on MOTD2 and saw the tackle by Evans and a red card looked harsh to me. However, when you make a tackle and aren't in control, you give the ref a decision to make. The timing could not be worse. The missing players list in defence is giving me serious de ja vu with the Fulham away game last season. Hopefully Rio and Vidic will be back soon.
Rio won't be back until next season.....He's ''forgotten'' how to get fit.Well its normal....sometimes he ''forgets'' to defend.Capello should do the decent thing and bring in a new partner for John Terry,as Rio seems more unreliable than Hargreaves.
Rio has forgotten more about defending than Carragher or any of your shower of ****e defence have ever known. Back in your box KPR, I'm starting to run out of pity for you
