    It seems pretty obvious to me that he's taken it on the chin to save his son getting a "totting up" ban! Nice to know he loves his family!

    <ok>

    Not necessarily, he was away with his Birmingham team at the time of the offence, perhaps he really doesn't know which of the 5 authorised drivers was behind the wheel! It's not beyond the bounds of possibility!

    Much as it pains me to do so I have to agree with JWM. I don't think that CH has covered himslef in glory with this - a bit disengenius to simply say that he knows who had access to his car but not tell the rozzers who the candidates were. All very well "protecting the family" but I doubt he'd have been so quick to take the fall had the speeding individual killed someone in an accident.

    Can i just say that Potters Bar is probably one of the most skankiest places i have had the misfortune to drive through, I'm sure there must be a nice part but from the bit i have seen its on a par with Moss Side at night.

    If it had been any of us in the same position they would have thrown the bloody book at us and we would most probably lose our jobs as a result! Family loyalty is one thing but not divulging the truth to the police should be taken very seriously!

    I take it you're referring to disengenius instead of disingenuous?

    It will be interesting to see the result of MP Chris Huhne's trial for doing exactly the same thing! The trial opens in September and if found guilty of perverting the course of justice he should get a stretch in clink!

    An ex boss of mine jumped a red light on Grapes hill, he was already on 9 points and was ****ting himself expecting a ban. He finally persuaded his wife to take the wrap as the police couldn't prove who was driving. So he paid the fine, she got the 3 points and...... a brand new Mazda MR3.
    The power of blackmail eh!!

    Although that disclaimer is somewhat innumerate - it says - You might find within my post slight grammatical errors!

    This is what Chris Huhne and his ex wife stand accused of and I hope if found guilty they bloody well throw the book at them! <ok> No one should be above the law in this country!
