When some people (<doh>) spend half a season waiting for the opportunity to humiliate Paul Lambert and his new Villa side at Carrow Road only for him to turn up and beat us 1 - 4?

Still another chance to do that.

But seriously, last night was really lower league by Villa. they looked like Leicester last year. Setting Flares off and trying to rush the pitch. Looked like a right bunch of lower leaguers.

The cup pisses me off every year, it's just an all round pain in the arse. Just hope people don't go all suicidal like last year with Leicester. Man up and get on with it peeps, we need to bounce back with Wigan on Saturday!

i have to agree with that beefy. i've never seen celebrations like that before. i was wondering if i was at the right match - i thought it was the world cup final at the time! what got me was how the villa fans i spoke to before the match (who were all very pleasant by the way and complimentary about our club) were clear in saying that they didn't care less about the league cup. you'd never have guessed it from the scenes we witnessed a couple of hours later... that match mattered way more to both their fans and their manager than they were letting on. that result was truly massive for them last night.

Well, absolutely. I think the remaining teams are now Villa, Bradford, Chelsea, Swansea, Leeds and Middlesbrough. By avoiding Chelsea any club has a real shot at getting to Wembley.

i wouldn't bet against chelsea succumbing to leeds. that's a proper grudge match and the way this competition has gone so far, i'd fancy leeds to win that one. [other than bradford] the only team i'd like to win it from here is swansea.
