Fingers crossed we get the Campbell signing done, plus the 2 Egyptians tommorow. Add the signings of Brady, Meyler and Stocko loan deal and we have done good. Big thanks to the Allams for backing Bruce when we most needed it, whatever happens tommorow at least they have been true to there word and tried to get the players in that he wanted.
+1 to that. The Allams have been great. We are beginning to build strength in depth and the Allams Egyptian connection could be a real plus. With Aluko fit, Elmo hopefully returning on a permanent, and Dudgeon and Fryatt back next season, we'll be strong contenders even if we dont make it this season.
Best post in ages mate.I could'nt have put it better myself Geo. Without the Allams we'd be toast. Fact !
agreed. irrespective as to whether it's coming out of SB's summer budget, to have shelled out for Meyler and Brady (great pieces of speculation in my opinion) they are still willing to wade in with a 7 figure donk on Ebanks-Blake. Can't fault their commitment and their faith in SB.
They want to get promoted and are willing to back the manager in order to get what they want. Not a lot of owners would take such a risk, but they've really impressed me and I'm very grateful for what they've done for our football club.
They should have just got the cheque book out in the first place and signed Bent, we wouldn't have lost to Wednesday and drew with Posh then. I'll reserve my judgement til we're in the premier league, if they invest the money they have my gratitude, but my gut instinct is they'll snatch all £150,000,000 and leg it, making themselves some tidy pocket money, and leaving us well ****ed.
I heard campbell was a no.. I know a few business acquaintances up his neck of the woods.. and he doesnt really fancy a move to Ull. who can blame him really?
As I said the other day, their commitment is entirely commendable, though the fees we're paying for some of these players makes me question just how good their knowledge of football is.
Putting £60 mill into a near bankrupt club without much chance of recouping it, is great business sense eh?
