On the brink of qualification for the Champions league, I realise how different I feel now compared to how I have felt in the past. Normally with CL qualification, came the worries about how we would perform therein. I did not want Celtic to be the whipping boys of the group, and perhaps more importantly I did not want to see our CL matches interfere with our league performances - which they often did. Celtic tended to struggle in the SPL after CL matches, and it was always a concern that players injured or tired out after a gruelling midweek European match would not perform in the SPL, which in reality was more important than the group stages of the CL, the SPL was and still is our bread and butter, but by god how times have changed. The result against Inverness on Saturday should be a portent for the next two or three seasons. We are now in the fantastic position of being able to rest our established 1[SUP]st[/SUP] team players after European games (if required), because we should be able to win the SPL at a canter even using the youngsters and the back-up players. The added bonus is that the young players can now be called upon in the SPL, giving them the experience which they would never have got in the past. And if these youngsters perform well enough in the SPL, then they know that they may be called on to play in the CL too. Win win. So thanks Rangers
Isn't it just great for us to have Rangers in the **** that they are in. As we look into the future ther is every reason to believe despite the best efforts of the Rangers 3, Doncaster Regan and Campbell Og that Sevco will be in deeper trouble and with the help of God in such trouble that never survive.
Thank you David Murray, Walter Smith, Craig Whyte, Campbell Ogilvie, Ally McCoist et al. Celtic now have at least three years to bring in talented players on a budget and add them to the young talent coming through the ranks at the club, without having to concern ourselves about being pipped to the SPL post by Rangers. By the time Sevco reach the SPL we'll be well on our way to 10IAR
Life is just so more enjoyable with them not being about, no annoyance when they're getting gifts off the refs thinking the damage it was doing to our club and now you've got the added bonus of them struggling in div 3 .
Harry, Sevco have been informed by the three Rangers amigos, Campbell Og Doncaster and Regan, that is business as usual and that they can expect the same loyalties from the referees and their assistants in the 4th tier of Scottish Football, as they had in the SPL. The three amigos said the referees were not walking away.
This is the most pathetic (non-wum) thread I have ever read in all the years of SPN and not606. Well done Russ
