Just been reading on the EADT website that MM will be getting the money from Cressy' s transfer and a new Greene King sponsorship I deal to spend on players as he see' s fit . Brilliant news . Things are getting better and better every day .Warky best you get plenty Kleenex in at this rate .
Issue with that is the Green King money is probably £150,000 and the Cresswell money we get in installments ( probably over 24 months ) so that may amount to £400,000 or so. Doesn't necessarily translate to £ 4 mill spent in fees. Gotta pay agent fees, sign on deals, wages etc so I'd be amazed if we spend more than £700,000 this summer in all honesty.
Westy The way i read it, is that we got nearly £4 million up front and the other £3 million in instalments
Spanish Hardly any deals are money upfront. Real Madrid paid Man Utd for a number of years the Ronaldo deal, they are doing the same to Tottenham for Bale. We'll get dribs and drabs for Cresswell over a two year time period I'd imagine.
I know what your saying bigal but thats my point, we could pay a million or two and pay for them transfers as and when we get paid from wet sham!!
we are not going to splash 1m. MM has already said he is looking for loans freebies and swaps so theres no debate in that argument. The big question is WHY we cant compete. I know we no longer have the standing we used to but we have great facilities, a decent stadium and a fairly large support (when put in perspective with some at this level)If we are struggling then the likes of league 1 and 2 clubs should surely close their doors now!
Im not saying we will spend that sort of money, what im saying is that there is no reason why we cant!! They said the Cressy money is there if needed, well im sorry but it is bloody needed!! We could theoretically splash at least a couple of million and pay in instalments as and when we get payments from West Ham!!
Im with you Spanish. I don't know why we cant yet it seems we are not in a position too/ not willing to. We go from one extreme to another without any obvious sign of reasoning. Keeps things interesting I suppose.
