Goodness me. In light of recent events and current affairs (I am sure you are largely aware of what I am referencing), everywhere seems to have been inundated with bigots and fools. Twitter, Facebook, the Sunderland board, the Hull board and many other places. However, nothing of the sort over here. Having just had a scout around the forums on this site, we must be one of the most sensible (am I saying this?!) and down-to-earth boards there is. Seems to generally be a good group of people over here, who all happen to support the same club. A mention for Lapras too, because although not a Saints fan, he contributes regularly too. Even when in opposition to each other I don't think it ever falls to such lows of debate and hate, as I have seen on various other forums. Far more reason, discussion and less of the outright abusive nature adopted on other boards. We seem to have a good bunch on here. It's what makes the Saints not606 community an enjoyable to be part of. We have reasonable moderators at present (and in the past), who have been involved in the implementation of suggestions such as Beefy's Corner. We have a variety of posters, who do not all necessarily agree, but never seem to result to the extent of the abuse that gets bandied about elsewhere. This place is generally quite a reasonable place to post, as opposed to many other club boards that I am reading on the not606 domain, and also on SaintsWeb. So for that, thank you all. Here's to a good 2013/14 season in the Premier League too! DTLW
Fair play DTLW, we do debate well here and once people realise I'm right, everything settles down again!
Some of us (me included) do get into arguments on here but that's part and parcel of any forum. It rarely goes too far on our board. Wish some other boards would follow our lead.
There is a big difference between heated debate and personal abuse, and we mostly keep to the right side of the line. When someone goes too far, the mods almost always use the right amount of tolerance to stop it, and only ban people as a last resort. I tend to think of the regulars on this board as being distant members of my extended family, and am very fond of most of you, even if you do talk a load of crap sometimes!
Now the season is over. It's about time someone enthusiastic made a poster of the year awards thread. Dan is keen to win the dodgiest taste in women award. I should imagine there will be some heated competition for the ITK award, while the keenest poster of the year is likely to be a two horse race between lamballana and DTLW.
