Today saw TF do the oh so ****ing boring Ice bucket challenge, taking 4 buckets, 1 for each goal against Tottenham. He nominated Flabio Briattore and Jose Bosingwa to do the same. Top bloke and with a great sense of humour. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMtEmrXEco4&sns=tw
I understand the relevance but am also finding it boring, I'm afraid. It's for a worthy cause (or causes, as other charities have now jumped onto the bandwagon; itself not a bad thing), but that doesn't mean that it's compulsory to be entertained, surely? I find 'Children In Need' and 'Comic Relief' night somewhat tedious, but you cannot argue against the good intentions.
In a parallel universe QPR are in the Champions League under Briatore's chairmanship and have also only had the one manager this season so far.
Because I bet you half the people doing it, A) don't have a clue what it's for and B) are doing it just for the craze and not actually donating afterwards. Has it done anything to actually raise awareness to Lou Gareggs disease, I very much doubt it.
Of course it has. Just because a lot of people might be as you describe it doesn't mean a lot of others are not.
SO you prove my point, people are just doing it for the sake of an internet fad! And what I do find truly disgusting is that now you have other charities highjacking it as their own.
Discord and acrimony are rampant all across the board, even the most innocuous of threads are turning into vehicles of disagreement. We need a few goals and a few points to cheer us up again.
Have some sympathy with LR's viewpoint. I've been nominated and will probably do this w/e and donate too. TF is a good sport. I do just wonder if he is 'too nice' for QPR to be as successful as he and we want(s). For example, I think Daniel Levi would have let OBZ go! I would prefer us to be successful and nice but sometimes those two things are incompatible. What do others think?
How do I prove your point? Lighten up mate. Millions of pounds have gone to charities because of this. I can't see much wrong with that.
I too find the whole ice bucket challenge thing more than a little tiresome, but good on TF, that did make me chuckle.
Fair play to TF. He's a down to earth fella. Surprised he didn't nominate Sparky Hughes. There would be a queue around the block to participate.
Maybe you got a point there. If he's going to fund many of the players we are supposed to be bringing in before next Monday night, then he's probably being way too nice to Arry. Much as he was with Hughes.
