We do like a target at the Rs, don't we? We should all face reality. This is nothing less than a vanity project for Fernandes. Owning a football club gives you a higher profile, which appeals greatly to the rich and the privileged in this time of celebrity. Fernandes was not an Rs fan when he bought the club - I understand that he was a Hammers fan (or was that just whilst he was trying to buy them?) - but had sufficient finances and financial backing to buy QPR and fund them.

First and foremost he is a businessman the same as Bernie & Flav, which means this is ultimately about money.

There are not that many club owners left today that are lifelong fans of their clubs.

Make your minds up lads is this a vanity project or is it about building an Asian franchise and London entertainment hub?
The tide on here seems to be turning against TF which is a huge shame, and shows that we not only have an inconsistent team but also inconsistent and amnesiac supporters. We would be relegated already without him and Amit.
I will bow down to the Mighty Swords however who voiced concerns ages ago about TFs media presence. I am coming round to this, don't think it's helpful (for QPR) for him to be constantly in the spotlight, and his tweets about the team on Saturday, though simply voicing what many of us thought, we're surely out of order and undermining. He should have practiced what he preaches and made his views known through line management I.e. Sparky. Having said that I know we are still the envy of many clubs in having a Chairman who communicates to fans at all.

We need businessmen to own us. Some wet behind the ears fan isn't going to cut it.

If Tony makes money from us being part of his empire - fine

If he sells out to the Mittals - fine

I have no criticism of Tony Fernandes. I'm just praying that Sparky can work his magic with the talent we've got on the pitch, to turn them from a bunch of tentative, clumsy strangers to a confident and skillful machine. It's asking a lot. These two free weeks have come at a good time. I do believe if basic errors are eradicated, the players have it in them to beat Fulham and Everton. Huge matches.

I don't think it's a case of the tide turning, SB.
After the euphoria of the takeover, promise of money and dreams of a new stadium, youth project etc, it was hard to get a clear view of what was really going on and what the new owners motives were. I can't say I'm any clearer tbh, but it is natural to examine our situation in the light of recent performances from everybody, TF included. The scales were bound to fall off our eyes sooner or later; he is not a fairy godfather but a tough shrewd businessman who doesn't throw money away, and it's important for us to acknowledge that. It doesn't mean we want him out or hate him!
Wilde said something interesting once as a parent about children

'Children start off by loving us.
After a while they judge us.
Rarely, if ever, do they forgive us'

    Owners, take note!

For the record, I am not anti Fernandes. He funded the August panic-buying. He called it right in calling time on Warnock. He recruited a decent top-flight manager in Spunky. He's been true to his word in providing the January funds for new players.

It is now up to Spunky and his squad to do their bit.

But I am realistic when it comes to his motives for acquiring the Rs. If this is a symbiotic relationship, then we're all happy, right?

He's still somewhat in the 'honeymoon' period with the fans, the big acid test will be at the end of the season, regardless of whether we survive, and the direction we then go in. MH was sold the dream and TF will have to deliver it...

When will we QPR fans ever be happy?? The bernie and flavio era has left a distinct sour taste in peoples mouths!
Tony F steps up to the plate brings in some money, ambition, new manager and that manager brings in his players. He tweets and speaks to the fans openly as far as i can see. YET our cult status ITK ( Cerny i have got just the one thing right berny) suddenly appears with another pearl of wisdom and the tony hates spring out of nowhere!!
Im glad he was pissed off with our first half performance against blackburn, Im happy for him to voice it. we on here do the same so why shouldn't the owner!!. Im glad he cares enough to blast the performance!!. Has he stated he is selling up, is there any evidence of this? Or do you suppose Cerny is back to his old bullShit predictions which we have all become so used to!!

I think TF is mighty fine however a few of you may remember what i said : TF will use this (us) to raise his worldwide profile a few million here and there is priceless compared to what he gets back ... I doubt very much if he has used his own money here as he hasn't got that much but he knows a few that do. TF agrees with transparency then it shouldn't come as too big a shock that some people can see through him ... Overall we are in a good position and only really care about our next result and our overall performance come the end of the season and that my brothers is ..... entertainment. TF could have kept quiet and just be a shadow ... he hasn't because he needs and loves this exposure.. good or bad news this may just be a bit of bad news leaked out but the key work is news and you need to be in it all the time to get everything out you can. Mr Mittal has so much money that he needs to stay out of it ... common sense or someone would ask him to buy Greece

When I posted this thread I was merely passing on an article about TF, my original comment was sarcastic bearing in mind Cerny's latest ITK 'tip', hence it was followed with a , you have gone rather over the top as usual Bob...
