With the Milan talks having broken down, what are you guys views on what City should now do with Tevez? I know he's still a valuable asset, but he's also a big drain on your finances - if you don't sell him in January that's another £6 million (plus tax and insurance) down the drain until you can sell him again in July. At what point do you just cut your losses and let him go for a cut price or on loan rather than take the risk that he'll still be at City in another year?

P.S. Forgot to mention that under FIFA laws if Tevez doesn't play at least 10% of his games this season he may be allowed to cancel his contract in the summer. So he may just take another £6 million of your cash and then disappear for nothing anyway...

Hes played 5 times this season

I'd let Liverpool have him on loan
They aren't likely to catch us,he would be able to play against utd and spurs which would help is and if it got Liverpool into the top 4 it would damage Chelsea and arsenals prospects of top players coming to them next season
Win win situation

I thought he'd only played against Bolton, Wigan and Napoli?

Not a bad call actually. I guess you're assuming Chelsea and Arsenal will be bigger long term competitors than Liverpool? Tho' you'd probably have to do an Adebayor-esque deal and still fund lots of his wages.

How does that work, the slimy little fecker wont come back to this country how can RM play him ?

think the fifa rule is designed to stop clubs buying up players and sticking them in the reserves. Don't think it applies to players who just dont turn up. If that was the case i think you would see a lot more players doing this.

It's not guaranteed they'll let him cancel the contract, particularly given his refusal to play. Although given Mancini said he would never play for the club again, Tevez' slimy bastard of an agent will probably try to argue it's all the club's fault.

It's more designed to stop clubs punishing players who demand a move, Like SAF threatening to let Ronaldo "rot in the reserves" if he demanded a move on poor terms for the club. To try and rebalance the fact that if a player wants to leave a club often has the power to force them to stay, but if a club wants a player to leave they can usually force it through.

I like your thinking, if Liverpool decided not to get him, what about Newcastle instead?
