The Chairboys head to the south coast to take on top of the table Pompey at Fratton Park which is in Southsea just three miles outside the city of Portsmouth. We sit just outside the playoffs places six points behind our unbeaten hosts. No doubt Matty will make changes for this game. I really don't know what our best line-up is and I'm pretty sure that Matty doesn't either. If this game had been last week I would have gone as I was in Chichester all week but I am at home this week and I will be watching via Wanderers TV looking forward to a good game. We have drawn half of our ten visits to Fratton Park and I would be happy with that result once more
Apart from their 3-1 win over Bleaterborough their last 10 games have either been drawn or won by a single goal. Their 3-1 win at FGR and 4-0 win at Orient and 1-0 win at home to Exeter in early August gave them an excellent start to the season. But the fact that, in September they beat Bleaterborough, Barnsley, Lincoln and Wigan and drew with Derby would indicate that they are in very strong form. Their win over Exeter who thrashed us 3-0 is also a concern, although I would like to think we are a different kettle of fish to the disjointed team we fielded on that first day Portsmouth have scored 3 goals (or more) on 5 occasions this season and are averaging 1.7 goals per match in the League. We have conceded 3 on 3 occasions and are averaging 1.22 goals per match Unless we can pull something out of the bag tomorrow it looks like we are ****ed. However, if we could just have some luck on our side and increase the ratio of goals scored to shots on target, you never know
We have a resonable record against Pompey even down at Ftatton Park, this game will really show how we are doing we are nine games in, Matty should have some idea what he wants to do, I can see us losing the game in the last 10mins same as Charlton
The result was what we all expected, sorry to say the ref bottled it for their second goal what do the smaller clubs say in the Premier when they go to places like Man U that's what happened to us there was no way he was going to disallow that in front of the home end in the 98th min. We played really well I thought against a team flying at the moment & in front of a full house at Pompey.
