Am I mistaken in thinking that 2011/12 should be Lloyd's testimonial seaon? If it is, I just hope that the club don't do what Sir John Madjeski did to Graeme Murty and deny him one because of his wages. I'd much prefer the player given the testimonial with the condition that the money raised goes to charity. Maybe it's a question that someone on Twitter can tweet LD to ask him.
Good point there Jsybaz , I reckon Lloydy would be up for it ! Someone tweet him and see what his favourite charity would be!
I know that he has thought about it, as on twitter a month ago he said 'testimonial year next season. Any serious ideas' Most replies seemed to be a match against QPR with him playing upfront!
How about a team of former Watford players who are still playing league football? (Not loanees who were with us less than a season)
I think an ex-eleven that Lloyd played with would be a great thing. Not too sure about restricting who gets in though. Sticking several of Adam Johnson, Henri Lansbury, Jordon Mutch, Jack Cork and Tom Cleverley in what is always going to be a large squad would shift a fair few tickets. Also wouldn't say no to someone like Gifton coming back, which is pretty likely if the testamonial is during the season.
i think that's a great idea...ex-hornets! Including those loanees wouldn't be such a bad thing... Great idea to play QPR too lol
Doubt clubs would release their players to play in a testimonial and risk the chance of them getting injured. Maybe an ex-Watford eleven that he played with like someone suggested. My own suggestion would be to arrange a testimonial game against the team he made his debut against (Birmingham City i think). That would see the return to the Vic for Mutch and Foster?
Why should he be denied because of his wages - does not seem fair - I like the idea of a team with him up front
lol that would be completely bonkers! lol..though with some of the chances he's had this season, i think it's highly unlikely lol
Ordinarily I'd suggest Malky Mackay and Sean Dyche as centre backs for the opposing team, in the interests of bragging rights. Not really in Lloyd's character to brag though. Still, I think they're nailed-on to make an appearance of some sort.
