John Terry won't be facing trial for racial abuse until after Euro 2012.

So he's free to lead his country into Poland.

    Just like his hero did.

Agreed Comas, heard people saying Parker but he hasn't got the experience for it. Same with Joe Hart.

I'd say Lampard but I can't really see him being played anymore.

Maybe if he'd dropped all the old duffers who wont be at the next world cup straight after the last one then this wouldn't be too much of a problem.

Indeed he did. John Terry has often said his hero invaded Poland and took most of Western Europe to boot. He was defeated in France eventually.
Atilla the Hun did all this in 442 ad.

Now now Comas, ALLEGED racist ;)

England a laughing stock again! This is exactly why I don't support them, constantly something bad happening.

I reckon Parker will play every game to be honest, he's been the best DM in the league this year and if Gareth Barry gets ahead of him Capello is one thick nonce.

    I bet it's Gerrard though.

Cole doesn't want it. Hart is a keeper we don't want to destroy. Parker is inexperienced. Rooney is a disgrace to English football. Barry <laugh>. Wilshire and Jones are far too young. Gerrard is injury prone. Lampard won't be played much more.

Quite frankly it should still be Terry. If Rooney wasn't such an unlike able twat then I would say him, but it's his conduct on the field that is the problem. I reckon it will be Gerrard.

I admire Capello's stance on the matter, he's the manager, it should be what he says goes. What good is it for England when the manager's authority is undermined?

Agree with everything Varier said aswell, JT is a natural leader and one of the best in the world with an armband on, it's a shame he ruins it by being a tosser at times (nothing to do with the ongoing racism charge, as he was hated before this saga).

If I were Capello, it'd be given to Lamps and I'd bring a load of youngsters to this Euros!

I dont think theres ANY english player who could lead a team better then Terry, on the field he is a rock, off it he is a twit. I personally think he is innocent of any racism, just the media and dumb fans trying to make a deal of something thats not.. Everyone hates him, yet he is the best england have at CB and as a captain. Anyone who disagrees with that is soft in the head.

The fact they have taken away his captaincy just makes him look even more guilty. Absolute stupid decision imo. Best bet after Terry would probably be Parker for me as he just gives everything for the cause, great example for all players to follow and he knows the game, intellegent etc and has plenty of experience playing a high standard of PL football. and should be one of the first names on the england team sheet in my opinion.

The FA took their action as they felt it would affect our Euro campaign! Trying so sort out a replacement will affect it even more seriously! If only they had dealt with it the Capello way i.e "Innocent until proven guilty", then all we would have to put up with, would have been the anti Chelsea soccer journos, pouring out their bile in work--while the business of England winning could have carried on regardless!

Gerrard is the only choice now as he is the most experienced senior player who is still likely to play every game if fit. Parker's played about 3 minutes for england so surely can't be captain, harts too young and I don't think keepers make good captains as are too removed from most of the play. Rooney misses the first 2 games and is a prick on and off the field. Lampard would be a good choice but only if he plays which I doubt. Cole doesn't seem captain material to me, Rio don't want it (and shouldn't be going anyway as he is **** and injury prone now).

Should still be Terry really but there you go.

Last time i watched Gerrard as captain for england he was far too intersted in himself and his own champagne passes to bother encouraging the team around him. He is a non existent captain for england who is just fortunate enough to have other great leaders in the same team. He would not be number 5 choice.
