Barnsley want Terry Butcher as their manager if reports on Sky are to be believed! Should be an interesting and somewhat emotional clash when we meet them in a couple of weeks! Whatever happens he will always be a Town legend in my eyes but I can't help thinking why would he give up the great work he has started at Inverness Caledonian Thistle who are second in the SPL?
I've just seen the Look North report on this. But I don't know whether Butcher has made any comment on his intentions. He may well distance himself from it. I would find it hard to imagine he would rule himself out at Town and then a couple of months later take over at Barnsley?
I don't think that Terry was ever approached by Town in the first place. Good luck to him apart from when they play us!
Maybe he feels he's not experienced enough for the Town job and doesn't want to come here and bomb, tarnishing his god like status.
Obviously an ITFC legend but never been overly impressed with him as a football manager but seems to have done well in Scotland albeint a pretty powder puff league!!
