Sure I could - wiki does it better, but I'll try: Basically FC Købehavn is the 1991 fusion of KB (the oldest non-British European football Club-1876) and B1903.
Situated in Parken (approx 35000 seater), national stadium of Denmark.

    Titles:

    FC København:

    Danish Champions: (10): 1993, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013
    Silver(4): 1994, 2002, 2005, 2012
    Bronze (2): 1998, 2008

    KB:

    Danish Champions (15): 1913-1914, 1917-1918, 1922, 1925, 1932, 1940, 1948-1950, 1953, 1968, 1974, 1980
    Silver(12): 1929, 1931, 1939, 1943, 1946-1947, 1954, 1959-1961, 1969, 1979
    Bronze (7): 1935, 1938, 1942, 1964, 1966, 1973, 1976

    B 1903

    Danish Champions (7): 1920, 1924, 1926, 1938, 1969, 1970, 1976
    Silver(6): 1933, 1934, 1972, 1977, 1989, 1992
    Bronze (7): 1930, 1941, 1963, 1965, 1974, 1979, 1982

Very quickly after the formation of the Club there began a firce rivalry between Lyngby, who righteously, claimed FC København had made underhand agreements with their best players to go to FC København. This as Flemming Østergård (aka Don Ø), was the chairman of Lyngby BK, now was the biggest sponsor and (from 1997) chairman of FC København.

At this time B-IF was the undesputedly most succesful Danish football Club, but the big setup, finances and ambitions of FC København was in itself a provocation; soon there was a powerful rivalry going. Known (in Denmark) as "the New Firm":

After an initial championship, and a few years of finding it's feet FC København started to challenge B-IFs status; buying spectacular players, having international level coaches and winning championships.
The factual turning point being Sibusisso Zumas SPECTACULAR goal, securing the 2001 Danish championship against B-IF in the second last game of the season:

FC København has participated in European competitions EVERY year since the season 2001/2002.

Progressing from the CL-groupstage in 2010/2011 as the best result, but winning 1-0 over Manchester United 2006/2007, stands for me as a special moment (cost me a new mobile phone as the one I was holding flew God knows where as Marcus Allbäck scored FC Københavns goal in the first ever win in the CL).

Brings me to notable players... There are so many:

I'll pick a few, but you'll check out the rest and disagree:

    Sibusisso Zuma
    Jesper Grønkjær
    Marcus Allbäck
    Tobias Linderoth
Ståle Solbakken (player and later manager)
    Christian Poulsen
    Andreas Cornelius
    Dame N'Doye
    Allan Nielsen
    Jacob Laursen

Guess that's about it, check out

    Good read.

Who was your all time favourite player for FC Kobenhavn Mikra? and why?

I remember Allan Nielsen being a top player.

A really interesting thread Mikra. Politics in the corridors of power in the Danish game!

You leave me in a tight spot choosing between Zuma and Grønkjær. Think I'll stick with the latter... But they were both VERY influential players in FC København. Grønkjær is probably the only player to make it back to the Danish League after years abroad, and stay on the highest level - playing some of the best football of his career!
Still: was shaken when Cornelius was sold to your neighbors: thought he'd stick around for years to come, and becoume a legend. William Kvist (now Vfb Stuttgart). Nicklas Jensen. Arrhh - I could go on...
