You'll become aware of the forest fires here on the coast, indeed, I was joking about them with MR. Well, our house, and several hundred others is gone, indeed, had I not have realised the severity of it when I did, I'd be gone, I think we had maybe 2mins to spare. It went from2 km away to the edge of our urbanization in around 3-4 minutes, we have a toll road high above the back of where we live, and it bridged that 300 metre gap in seconds, we drove out through 10 foot flames in black smoke, grabbing as many people as we could fit into the car on the way. It's crazy, I've trawled the English news channels and nobody seems to have picked up on it, there will be many dead, countless people left homeless, including many ex-pats and holidaymakers, the main body of the fire now spreads across 35-40km, from Coin to Istan, there's rumours that Marbella city centre is gone. I've heard people speak of near death experiences, and how thankful you are after, I can't shake the shock (hence I'm wide awake, writing on a football forum, everyone's asleep, or unaware..). All my mates here are now accounted for, we're not the only ones to have lost our home, and in an awful way that's a bit comforting, but where the city starts tomorrow, how bad it is, the casualty list, well, we won't know till daybreak. Take the moment to give your missus a kiss and that, cos I tell you the sound of her screaming in terror doesn't half make you realize that sometimes your a bit of a twat. I'm relying on the dreadful iPhone app on here to deliver the great news on our world class left back, so don't let me down boys!
**** mate. We get that alot down here in Oz, every year we have massive bushfires that light up the sky at night a menacing orange. And they move ****ing fast. Glad to hear you and your family got out in time, and you picked up people on the mad rush to get out. Hopefully Marty will sign this world class left back just for you!
**** mate, that sounds like you've had the night from hell. Just woke up and had a quick scan for any news and read your post and it's shocked me. Glad all the family and friends got out safely. Makes you remember there are bigger things in life than football, hopefully a couple of worldies through the door will make it slightly better. Best wishes to all those affected
Property and belongings can be replaced: people can't..Thank goodness you are all ok.. As has already been said, it is events such as this that put the 'game' of football into perspective..
Bloody hell mate. I honestly thought you were joking at 1st! I had no idea of these fires at all. Glad yr all safe bud. Look after eachother...
I can't believe you joking about it before lol. Glad you're ok. I hope you and everyone else affected recover and rebuild fast.
Bloody hell mate. What a thing to happen and after you were joking about it last night I thought it was nothing. Take care and let us know if we can help in any way.
Bloody hell mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am glad your alright, but **** me your house and possessions that's just the worst news. I am in the US and there is no news on it at all over here. I had a close shave a few days ago myself with Hurricane Issac but it sounds like you were much closer to life threatening situation. I must admit while Issac was getting closer to us I was on this forum to try and keep my mind off things. Just keep checking in and I am sure the boys back home will bring some good news on signings soon. I hope you ok mate, my thoughts are with you and the people in southern Spain tonight. I have got a couple of mates out there myself I am going to email them and check they are ok.
****ing hell mm, this IS terryfying, sounds like you's have had a lucky escape, glad you's are safe and hope you's are well insured, hope ev turns out ok mate
Jesus christ fella. Glad u ok & ditto all above. Hope as many people got out as possible & those who did pass went quick. Horrendous thing for someone to go through on so many levels.
Sorry bud, that sounds like it was a truly frightening experience. Glad you and the mrs are OK and hope you get sorted quickly.
Sorry to hear this MM, I got caught up in a forest fire in turkey a few years ago and I know how terrifying they are. Glad you and yours are all ok.
