So with the dust having settled, what is your over-riding feeling on the new (home kit)? My immediate reaction was, who designed it and why hasn't he been sacked yet. But, having continued to look at it, I think the home top looks very, very smart. Classy. However, the kit would be perfection had we gone for black shorts and white socks. For me, the kit as a whole is one block of colour, and I can't help but think of Liverpool. That said, the top on its own is nice. Perhaps slightly thicker white pin stripes, and a slightly thicker ring of white around the sleeves? On the away kit, I like it too, but again would think it looked alot nicer with black shorts. Miss yellow though. Anyway, a poll for the new home kit...and go.
Both shirts would have made nice away kits. I might even buy one, if they go on sale in January. But my intitial reaction was the same as yours, SGMI.
Really hard decision....On which one to buy! Ofc the normal is the home kit but i really like the away kit!!
About what we could guess from the opinion thread...three quarters like it or may like it. The trouble is that dislike is always more passionate than like.
I am really surprised, as I actually like both kits, even though I didn't like the idea of going away from our tradititional format after having it back for just one season. Seeing the players wearing it on the Saints Player has convinced me.
Who honestly chooses to buy or not to buy the lates kit based on whether they particularly like it or not? Football strips in general aren't particularly stylish and any adult wearing one when they aren't watching/playing football looks a bit special. Football strips are about nailing your colours to the mast and putting money in the club coffers.
How about a new club anthem too? "Oh When The Saints... Never Walk Alone... Oh When The Saints Never Walk Alone..." Seriously though, this is the first time I've been in the 'not for me' crowd. I even didn't mind the blue Dimplex away thing...
I like them both, but will probably buy the away shirt rather than the home if I decide to buy one at all.
I'm impressed by the shirts but I bet the away kit sells better than the home one purely because it looks slightly more Southampton like.
