Referee was very inconsistent today, made a lot of bad decisions. How many fouls did Dunne commit before he was actually booked? I'm sure I counted 6 or 7, then Jelavic gets booked for his first foul. Ferdinand should have been booked for kicking the ball away. They shouldn't have had a penalty either, Bruce has every right to be livid.
The ball definitely hit his arm but it definitely wasn't a penalty. His arms couldn't have been anymore by his side and completely unintentional. Fortunately it didn't cost us today because had they scored that then we could have quite easily won the game.
The penalty decision for handball was an absolute farce, but other than that I don't think the referee was particularly bad. He was slightly too lenient on Richard Dunne who committed a professional foul too many, but I can see why he didn't give the Jelavic appeal which I thought was 50:50.
Not the worst refereeing performance I've ever seen. The problem is that having at least one totally appalling decision is standard these days. This is why we need a video ref.
Looked to me like the ball hit his side / hip, not his arm at all. He seemed to be moving his arms behind his back at the time. Like v Spurs last year, it was NEVER a penalty. Shocking decision. Justice prevailed.
Look on the bright side - that's one appalling decision gone against us this season and it hasn't cost us points. Along with injuries and suspensions it is these that will determine whether we surpass last season's success or not.
I'm bored of saying it, but this happens every time we play away at these ****ty London clubs with the stands tight to the pitch. They always get a soft penalty. I said when QPR came up it would happen. I hope they go down along with Palace and West Ham. If we could lose Sunderland too that'd be just great.
I thought it had to be hand to ball not ball to hand...he was pulling his arms back and on the replay looked like it hit his chest. These are serious decisions...that could have lost us 2 points and given them an impetus to chase for a winner....Hope we haven't used up too much of out luck getting that win...But great start to the season.
Chester's was a blatant handball let's not kid ourselves. Also thought Jelavic went down way too easily and was never a penalty. Ref had a good game.
