Just a quick question. Can the club claim against AJ for compensation for services lost after spending money on his transfer fee and can SAFC claim any payment for AJ if he manages to get himself another club to take him.
Question has been asked left right and center. Nobody seems to know. Mind you, we'd probably be picking the bones left by the Victim and his missus which may not be very much if anything.

Chelsea 'sued' Mutu for a huge amount but I'm not sure they ever got a penny of it. I believe you'll be pissing in the wind trying to sue him.
If he lied to the club in pleading his innocence leading them to lift his suspension and continue to pay his wages then it could be argued [loosely] that has he has committed the tort of deceit. He has caused the club to change their position [backing him, allowing him to play, continue paying his wages], based on a false representation [denying guilt], leading to a quantifiable loss [the wages paid out.] That could be actioned in theory.
I still don't think they could claim anything on wages. He continued to be paid, but he also continued to 'work' for his wages. The only possiblt compensation route would be for the loss of the value of the player, but seeing as his contract is up in the summer (I think) then it's probably not worth the hassle for the club. They'd be better off drawing a line under it and avoid having their name ever associated with him again.
Possibly. It's theoretically possible, but so is time travel back to the past. It would probably not get past the Statement of Claim stage.
