Just as a matter of interest, I had a look at http://www.qpr.co.uk/page/Fixtures/0,,10373~2001,00.html My God, there are some low points. Losing at home to Northampton to name one. Hope this season is better!!!
Our first season in League 1. I remember we finished 8th. Then we halved that to 4th and then again to 2nd to win promotion. All in all, a quite enjoyable 3 seasons in that division. The Club regained its soul during that period of transition IMO.
ten years ago I had no beer belly, grey hair or a beat up van. I did have a job, a career, a house, six pack and a georgous Kiwi girl. memories
I'm with Swords. After we got relegated we were in adminstration and lost almost the whole team. We only retained Carlisle and Langley becasue they were both badly injured. Ian Holloway could only sign players (obviously on frees) from the London area as we couldn't pay re-location expenses. How he managed to shape a team that finished 8th is still beyond me. But don't get me started on what Holloway did for our club......
Despite being in the old Div 2 I think that period galvanised the supporters in a way we hadn't seen for a long time, they may have been dark days but it proved what our club meant to us and Ollie deserves the utmost respect for rebuilding the team from scratch.
