Ten year average Premier League points to secure that position.
    In brackets season 2010-11 points.

    1st) 87.80 points(80)
    2nd)81.30 points(71)
    3rd)76.00 points(71)
    4th)68.00 points(68)
    5th)62.60 points(62)
    6th)60.30 points(58)
    7th)56.20 points(54)
    8th)53.60 points(49)
    9th)51.80 points(48)
    10th)49.20 points(47)
    11th)47.30 points(47)
    12th)46.00 points(46)
    13th)44.40 points(46)
    14th)43.40 points(46)
    15th)42.10 points(43)
    16th)39.70 points(42)
17th)37.70 points(40) Points to beat the dropl Average
    18th)35.50 points(39)
    19th)32.50 points(39)
    20th)25.00 points(33)

If we specify the target as 37.70 points , this has not been enough to stay up on three occasions.
    2010-11 needed 40 points
    2006-07 needed 39 points
2002-03 needed 43 points (West Ham relegated on 42)

Based on 38 games , need 1.05 points per game.(40points)
40 Points has been enough all but the once.

Any Team winning 11 games has not been relegated , we need 8 more wins from today and 5 draws etc .

    Game 28....29.40 points.......Bolton(A)
    Game 29....30.45 points.......Liverpool(H)
    Game 30....31.50 points.......Sunderland(A)

    Game 36....37.80 points.....End April....Chelsea(A)
    Game 37....38.85 points.....Stoke(H)
    Game 38....39.90 points......Man C(A)

Only a guide , due to the toughness of the last 10 games need to be ahead of target by game 29-30.
Will bump from time to time.

    ...QPR.........Norwich........Swansea.......Wigan.........Blackb'n.......Wolves

It may take me a while to absorb this, but in the meantime can we round the target up to 38 points? Cheers North!

Love the stats Northolt, but working on my own system we are on target i.e. 12 points every 10 games = 36 points after 30 games leaving 8 games to get 4 points should give a little room to catch up. Although it will look like we will need it as the last 5 games look daunting.

Have you equated the January Transfer window into this?
By my reckoning this will elevate us up 0.385864 points per game over 17 games.

The top 7 are becoming stronger
The 4/5 at the bottom are falling away
The middle earth needs less points to get to 8th

This is current trends and will develop more over next few seasons ... Eventually there will be a defined top ten

Results turn stats upside down and our team spirit is key hence my worries about us . The margin between 15th and 8th is in effect two good results

I've been working on the 40pts mark but when I ran through the season, like DT I ended half up the league well before the end. So now i'm concentrating on the gap to 18th, at present we have a 6 pt cushion, long may it live.

99% of all statistics are made up!

I don't know what is up with some of you people. It is quite easy when you factor all the possibilities into the equation, look:
