http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/live...-madrid-s-nuri-sahin-on-loan-100252-31624719/ LIVERPOOL FC are hopeful of clinching the signings of Nuri Sahin and Cristian Tello this week as Brendan Rodgers’ summer rebuild at Anfield gathers pace. The duo would move to Merseyside on season-long loan deals, with Rodgers confident the signings can be clinched before the Reds open their Premier League campaign at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday. Liverpool believe they have fended off interest from both Tottenham and Arsenal to sign Real Madrid midfielder Sahin. The Turkish international has been told he is free to leave the club by Real boss Jose Mourinho and, having spoken to ex-Reds star Xabi Alonso, has informed Rodgers of his desire to move to Merseyside. Liverpool aim to complete the formalities over the next 48 hours, and could introduce the 23-year-old to his new teammates this weekend. The deal for Barcelona winger Tello should also go through shortly, with managing director Ian Ayre having flown to Spain to finalise negotiations. The 21-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season at Camp Nou last season, making 22 appearances under Pep Guardiola, and scoring seven times. But with Guardiola having left, Tello has been informed by new Barca boss Tito Vilanova that first-team opportunities will be limited this season. He was officially listed as a ‘B’ team player when the Catalans announced their squad for the upcoming campaign. -------------------------- The Echo is usually spot on, and dont really report any unfounded rumours...
Hopefully we can get these to to bolster the squad, both are good young players and this move would enable us to move on the likes of Cole and Adam.
Sounds very positive. This will give us a strong and deep squad. Tello could add what we needed in attack. Sahin will add strength to our midfield. Admittedly I dont know much about them. But a lot of good things have been said.
i have heard rumours that Tello is going to sign a contract extension at Barca (spanish media), and he is also not sure on moving abroad? be nice if we could get him, have seen him play and he has a lot of potential,Sahin i haven't seen play, but from the comments i have seen, even rival supporters, he sounds like he would be a good catch, as there is supposed to be clubs interested in him that could offer Cl football. guess we will see.
The Echo actually says that they are loan deals, however with Tello being listed as B team he may want a move.
Guillem Balague has further reiterated that Tello isn't keen on a move abroad but will consider it if he's not in Tito Villanova's plans next season.
I think if we got Tello it should be a purchase not loan. 5million is nothing and even if he failed We'd still flog him for a couple of mill, Sahin too tbh.
Heard last night that Barca had renegotiated with Tello and that he is staying. Who knows! Echo are usually good though.
read on another forum i use, that one of the users has said he meets Sammy lee most weeks and he has said one of the players has told him Tello is coming. make of that what you will, just passing on the info, might be credible, who knows, but i have heard he isn't sure on going abroad, so hope there is some truth in it.
The report I've read is that Sahin does want to join Liverpool and Tello has been put in the Barcelona B squad, there could be a move on the cards within the next 48 hours.
good point, but i suppose it depends where he is from, we will have fans in Bolton or near it, so its possible. also which players are likely to keep in contact with Lee? i can only think of Carra and Gerrard as the most likely, and i have never heard them blab about potential targets before, although saying that, i know Carra used to give out team formations, and the user who posted the line ups was credible as he got everyone spot on all the time, not one wrong. probably bull, but its no more credible than anything else to be honest.
You can see why Tello would be hesitant - new country, new city, new team-mates, new league - and without the security of playing for Barca.
Yeh... and because Barca expect everyone to do what they want. Look at the Bojan deal - it's ridiculous.
They do have a penchant of buying back players..... give us tello you can have pacheco? Btw, how would fans mind set change on Agger if he jumped ship to Barca? Good for the lad or what was all that talk about loving the club?
