as i may have mentioned in passing once or thrice, i rarely sit and watch television but having sat watching 'Dave' and an old Top Gear the adverts seem to have gone all to hell.
lots of charities requesting donations, a couple of 'staycation' promotions and cremation packages (where the feck did those come from) any products seem to be on a loop of repeating almost every break, is this normal now?
while on the subject of charities i really cannot fathom that things such as cancer research have to almost beg for funds while the government spend billions on trying to land a probe on some distant asteroid, my take on this is fairly straight forward...your house is falling down and in need of urgent repair, do you make sure those repairs are done so you know you have many years left in your home and can safely look around until the right home comes up to move into, or do you do nothing to help your home apart from a couple of bodge jobs and go searching for a home you cannot possibly get to have a look at for many many years never mind move into.
obviously, you would look after what you have, many billions can be found when needed and apparently readily available to hand out to certain companies in the form of big contracts, we read about 'cures' being found, now in my humble opinion, the government need to show that they either work and start using them to help people or they use those billions to research better treatments, rather like fuel where a few alternatives have been tried and proven to be completely green and emissions free yet they are insisting on going all electric...at the end of the day money or the promise/possibility of more money is being put before the health and welfare of the people and that can only be wrong.
rant over, off to find something to stream that does not contain adverts.
