http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...x-McLeish-following-disappointing-season.html It claims that that Villa have greater potential, which I am unsure about, and greater resources, which people on here don't reckon Villa have got. It also says that there has been tension over the budget available to Lambert which has been proved wrong by last night and as far as I'm aware there wasn't any tension about the budget before last night as we are in quite a healthy financial position.
this article is not new either! it is a rehash of an article before mcleish was sacked. best to ignore it - they are clearly guessing
Really? My bad. It was in today's paper. But as you say, they are guessing and some parts are rather poor for the Telegraph.
What does make me laugh in all of this 2 faced attitude towards contracts, when Lambert was in charge at Col Who, Norwich didn't do things by the book and approached Lambert before approaching Col Who, yet now there is the threat of him going, McNally is wanting to adhere to the honour of a contract and that Villa have to approach the football club first.
Short - but nice piece in the Express from Mick Dennis. Read the last line, particularly http://www.express.co.uk/ourcomments/view/320244?
I said in another thread the fact MON left Villa for whatever reason will likely be the reason for Lambert to reject Villa if he is approached
You have to admit that he can't really stand in Lamberts way in even talking to Villa or any other club, whats that saying 'you live by the sword, you die by the sword'.
its been proven that we played dirty over lambert before. if our manager stated to mcnally that he wanted to talk to villa i very much doubt mcnally would stand in his way, but just cos we screwed another club over doesn't mean we'll stand for it! we've been trampled on before remember, plenty of times
I prefer to see it as us bending the rules to save Paul Lambert from Colchester. Its like breaking immigration laws to save someone from a war or famine. Technically breaking the rules but for the greater good
It's his Human Rights. Article 3 of the ECHR says that every person has a right not to be tortured, this is a fundamental right.
So you are saying basically, its OK for you to do the dirty but not other teams? have you ever heard the saying 'do upon others, as you would like others to do upon yourself'
well as i say, we've been robbed of talented managers for years, yet the one time we do it apparently we are worse than all the others? come off it... its not right but its what all clubs do at some point. if a manager makes it clear he wants to leave there is very little a club can do to stop them going anyway
So you can't really whinge and whine if it happens then? just getting all bases covered just in case!
you won't find me whinging about it if lambert leaves. its football - this is what happens. managers and players move on. i will be surprised if he went to villa though, massively surprised. but you can't deny, we've been stuffed over so many times before, whenever we've had a decent manager in fact, so doing it ourselves just the once felt like a little bit of justice for once
Well said Guru of Ipswich, McNally and his little budgie underlings personify the heights of hypocrisy. What goes around comes around. Wet-the-bed-budgerigar - If Lambert wants to go to a bigger club like Villa then there’s nothing you lot can do to stop him. As for the Telegraph article, it’s merely pointing out the obvious that Paul Lambert is almost certainly going to be Aston Villa’s next manager.
Justice will begin to be served when Villa poach LAMBCHOPS this week and will be properly meted out once your pathetic club is relegated back to League One.
any chance you can add FACT to the end of all your statements? where has any norwich fan ever said they can stop lambert going if he wants to go? thats the difference isn't it - when he wanted to go to norwich you cried about it - we'll just get on with it and thank him for what he's achieved. however, it's highly unlikely it'll be villa who get their mits on him, so you may well have to be a bit more patient
supers, I would like to know which managers you are talking about? the only manager i can remember leaving for another club is Walker, and from what i can remember that was done pretty much above board? i might be wrong be its the only one i can think of!
