I thought Teddy was excellent on Saturday and showed some pieces of skill that really were top class. It's early days and we shouldn't get carried away, but I see no reason why he couldn't become a better player than Jonny Williams. Williams will be 21 next month, but Bishop has only just turned 18. Suddenly we've gone from complaining about a threadbare squad to having to leave the likes of Smith and Hyam out of the starting 11! With Ambrose joining and the likes of Hunt and Stewart returning from injury, we now have lots of options. I am the first to admit that I was very disappointed and frustrated by the lack of quality signings in the Summer but if we've got kids like Bishop coming up from the academy then I shall be delighted. Hats off to Bryan Klug and his team for developing some very gifted players and its great to see that Mick is giving these kids a chance to shine. Still a long, long, way to go but I am optimistic that we can at last build a team with a large input from home grown players just like Luke, Tommy and now Teddy Bishop, McQueen and Clarke. This muist be the way forward for a club of our limited financial means. We are at our best when we rely on our youngsters.
But our academy is crap warky!!!!!!!!!!! how the hell can we produce any players by being CAT 2 and doing stuff on the cheap.
Good post Johnny.Agree that Bishop looks a great prospect and is certainly what the team has been lacking, forward looking, not frightened to take on his man and will only get stronger as he bulks out.
I really think that Skuse days as a first choice are numbered or at least I hope so! Hyam to hold and Bishop going forward seems the logical choice!
agree with this, bags of energy and intelligence in that duo. Things are looking bright. We are still doomed though!
Lets bloody hope so Warky!! If Mick replaces Tabb with a proper left winger and Anderson with a decent right winger then we have every chance of having a really good season, maybe, just maybe, Mick has realised defensive is not the way to go in this division!! If that is the case and he plays more expansive, attacking football then i will start to change my opinion, even if we don't quite make it!! If he reverts back to type i shall be bloody fuming tho, nah surely he can see that being more attack minded works!! I now need to go lay down in a dark room, not feeling right today!!
I think Mick wants to sort the defence first and stop us being as open as we have been in the past before adding the flair etc. Like his jigsaw approach
The fact that you've had to post this thread JWM, are you saying there are a lot of "Bishop bashers" on here?
There speaks the supporter of a club who's fans think they are up after 6 games! check out the bishop bashing going on over on the dark side boys.
To be fair Guru, it was too good an opportunity to miss As for our positivity, we're just enjoying going into every match, knowing that we'll be trying to win rather than not to lose!
Well done Teddy for really grabbing your opportunity. Mick said that he would've had to have been stark raving mad to leave Teddy out after his Derby performance.
I have heard that the collins dictionary are going to put a couple of pictures of a norwich fan to describe Bipolar in the next edition.
I agree with everything written and I couldnt be arsed to put it into my own words! The last 2 paras are mine!
