Isn't that what they posted a week ago? Is this just reporting the "rubber-stamping exercise" they mentioned?

What about the weekend meeting between the team owners? Has anyone heard anything about that?

"a front wing of reduced width"

Can't wait to see that return for 2013. The current FW's are horrible.

Does anyone know if the new engine plans are still going ahead?

This is just dumbing down car design. From a technical point of view F1 peaked in the 90's, it's just gone backwards from there.

I'd argue the technology has improved in F1 to be honest. Aerodynamics is now a much more finely tuned science than the black art is used to be when wings were beginning to be used, and the entire car is designed around the air flow around it. If the regulations hadn't been tightened, then the speeds would be so high it'd be too dangerous. The rules change so frequently to stop lap times dropping too dramatically. I think thats why the rules are changed slightly every year, as otherwise the cars would simply be too fast.

Are the proposed 2013 engine regulations an actual statement of intent or merely pre-negotiation strutting?

The 1.6Ltr turbo's seem to still be going ahead, hopefully with tweaked rules to keep the power the same as today, not relying on KERS since thats still going to be limited to a pointlessly short period of time.

I just hope they don't dumb the cars down too much otherwise it will run the risk of being overtaken by other formulae.

How do you quote a quote? Only because an item in the article that Forza posted made me chuckle:

"In consultation with the main stakeholders, and following the outcome of this consultation, a fax vote by the WMSC could be considered by 30 June latest to redefine the implementation date of these technical regulations."

With all the technology at their disposal......a fax vote.....old skool!

FIA are idiots. they should make the engines 1.6 v6 turbos, just like the mid 80's. Those cars were beasts.

I can't claim to be the finder of this link, someone posted it before, it escapes me where though. Why go for V6 when you can have V16, I much prefer the sound of this than the angle grinder rasp of the current F1 cars, they sound like they are begging for mercy!
