Well Man Yoo used to be yellow and green Leeds changed to white Liverpool to red Even our original kit was brown and yellow stripes............. any others?
Our original kit was Sky Blue & White halves, similar to Blackburn Rovers but like all the others you mentioned was a hell of a long, long time ago. Our change came about to bring in line the colour's with our nickname, as most Canaries are Yellow & Green I cannot think of any team that has had a radical change in the last 40 years other than perhaps Crystal Palace but even they had Blue & Red in their predominantly White kit in the 70's. You can argue the same for Luton - used to play in Tangerine then moved to White shirts but the Tangerine was still included. What all these teams also have in common was they did not change anything else, nor were the changes anything to do with sponsorship or investment and we are talking 30-40 years ago when such things played virtually no part in football.
Soz Thai but our original kit was stripped and we were called Riverside United ;O) Opps soz m8 thought you ment us lol
That's ok because Man Utd were not Man Utd back then either... There are loads of teams that changed names many years ago but I cannot think of all of them now but you can include Birmingham City, Arsenal & Leicester City among them I know what you are getting at, would it be so dramatic if you did change colour's again......That is up to the opinion of the individual There are several reason why they might be resistant to change, most I guess are based on tradition from their time of supporting the club.
John, let me turn this discussion on it's head, just for a giggle. Here is the scenario.....Cardiff City have owners who come from country where their 'lucky colour's' are White & Black and their lucky animal was a Swan. How would you feel about your team playing in White shirts and maybe white or black shorts with a Swan logo?
Understand that it is for giggles Thai, but please....Are you forgetting that it was not just about a "lucky colour" but also the merging of two cultures.
The merging of two cultures that could not be any further apart if they tried Siam, remember Malaysia is practically 100% Muslem country, a group that never seem to merge with anyone other than themselves
Could be wrong but I thought our original kit was quarters not stripes. I'll ask sparkey.....he was there!
I can't answer a questions based on having owners who were that thick Picking the clubs biggest rival, and saying what if the owners wanted to make us the same as them. They are not doing anything of that nature, so it seems a little pointless to speculate on it.
What I am getting at Siam is, many people on here have been quite been quite vociferous about supporters who are against the changes but if the changes were as suggested as above I wonder if those very same people would be shouting the other group down? Those people opposed to any change are more than entitled to say so and should not be berated by those on the other side of the line
Thai! As repulsive as the idea may seem, it's a 100,000,000% yes from me? You have a very sick mind you know. I need a shower now thinking about that image.
Clingo - I even remember when we were called Offa's Troglodytes and played in animal skins on Cold Knap............. When we played the Saxon ****ers, we used to beat the **** out of them every time - they eventually became known as Bristol City ........
