At this moment in time what do you think would be our strongest line up to face City first game of the season?

pretty much what i was thinking. although instead of the attacking dobbie and go for leon for his defensive work rate.

    something like this.

    ----------Moreira
    Rangel---Ash---Caulker---Taylor
    -----------Leon
    --------Bodde--Allen
    Dyer--------------------Sinclair
    ----------Graham

    It won't be......
    ----------Cornell -------------
    --Alfei--Walsh--Monk--Tate---
    --Gower------Harley---
    Butler-----------Macdonald-
    ------- Beattie-------

So not exactly a strong 2nd 11. The first team and the bench pick's itself...... after that it's scraping the barrel. Can you imagine this side against a Prem team - I dread to think.

As much as I like Dobbie I can see him starting on the bench when we play the better teams. He's great when we go forward; he creates and scores BUT he just does not have the work-rate or the dig to be of much use when the other team have possession.

I tend to favour nathswans line up against City, with hopefully an experienced, quality midfield signing in for Joe or Leon. Should we elect to start with Dobbs then we would be emulating Blackpool's gung-ho approach. However, I believe that Buck will opt for a more cautious approach against the top sides, particularly away from home, try and keep it tight then hope for an opportunist strike from Graham or a piece of inspiration from Sinclair to nick a point or three.

Hasn't Taylor still got one match of his 3-match ban left to serve? So he would miss the Man City game?

Yeah that'll be right unfortunately...unless we can capitalise on the handover from FAW to FA and hope they forget about it!
