With Anton injured and Muntari gone I would guess at

    Mignolet

    Elmo Mensah Onuoha Bardsley

    Henderson Colback Zenden Malbranque

    Sessegnon Noble
    OR

    Mignolet
    Elmo Mensah Onuoha Bardsley
    Colback Riveros
    Henderson Zenden Malbranque
    Sessegnon

Really does highlight our injury woes/loss of form/transfer problems when you consider our "strongest team" that we would have liked at the start of the season or even mid season compared to this. I still dont think the season has been that much of a dissapointment, more of a missed opportunity. The emergence of Big Mig, Colback, Bardsley as a consisitent premier league fullback and Sessegnon showing real promise gives me hope if we can get a decent pre season in. Just worry about picking up pre season injuries if the squad isnt improved upon as much as we hope in the summer. Tho names like Klose if true at least show the level of players we are lookin to replace Darren 'tap the badge' Bent with.

I'd like to see the first one personally, and if we go one down, or when malbranque tires (whichever comes first), replace him with Lynch and switch him and Sess round, i.e:

    Mignolet
    Elmo Mensah Onuoha Bardsley
    Henderson Colback Zenden Sessegnon
    Lynch Noble

Now we're safe, and especially against weaker / tiring defences I'd really like to see the younguns given a chance. But if I'm being honest I know Bruce won't (a) start either of them or (b) play both of them together. So I reckon it will be the second team with either Noble or Lynch coming on around the 60-70 minute mark if we need a goal, as usual...

prefer the 1st 1 as clearly Riveros has no future at the club

Riveros has probably been suffering a self inflicted injury - easy to see how he thought this might be a club policy

It may be a good idea to sign one or two 30 year old strikers. Okay they may be here for only a season or two but by then, hopefully, Lynch and Noble or another youngster perhaps will be making their claims for regular places. Also a couple of experienced strikers may be able to guide the young lads and teach them the tricks of the trade.

This two season thing means nothing, we are trying to move on and all teams bring in two season pros to help.
