You all know I love to talk formations, so I just thought I'd put up my team for Monday. Then what I think MH will pick. Fancy a go? Mine: 4-3-3 (4-5-1 when the ball is lost) --------------------------Cesar----------------------- Dyer---------------Onuoha------Nelson------Taore/Hill --------------------------M'Bia----------------------- ----------------Granero---------Faurlin--------------- Hoilett-------------------Zamora---------Taarabt/Park MH : 4-4-1-1 -------------------------Cesar----------------------- Dyer---------------Nelsen-----Hill-------------Onuoha SWP-------------Granero------Faurlin------------Park -----------------------Hoilett----------------------- -------------------------Zamora-------------------- (Will get exposed in midfield like we did against Reading imo)
-----------Cesar Dire-Mbia-Nelson-Onouha SWP-Faurlin-Granero-Park ----------Hoillet ----------Zamora Same as Vs Spurs but with Mbia! Clive from LFW seems to think the defense was okay yesterday up until we went from: Dire-Mbia-Hill-Onouha to Onouha-Mbia-Nelson-Hill. So i'd say keep the initial fullbacks and hope Mbia/Nelson gain some understanding over the next few days training..
Cesar Onuoha Nelsen Mbia Dyer Diakite SWP Granero Faurlin Hoilett Zamora After the Reading game, I just can't see us playing two up front and risk getting overrun in midfield. I know we need goals but Cisse isn't screaming for a starting spot for me. Traore isn't fit so we have no fullbacks.
I think we may need to play a holding central midfield, strong, fast player to protect our back 4 better, and stop slipping soft goals - M'bia, or Diakite or Derry, at the back of a midfield "diamond" spearheaded by Adel cuttting Hammers open, and Granero and Ale running the game. Zamora and Hoillett (or Cisse) up front: --------------------------Cesar----------------------- Dyer---------------Hill---------Nelson-----------Traore --------------------------M'Bia----------------------- --------------Granero----------------Faurlin------------ --------------------------Taarabt-------------------- ------------------Zamora--------------Hoilett--------- Alternatively, I'd like this, but from what I have heard about the LC game, and saw last 20 minutes or so against Spurs when Granero and Ale tired, we need to give better protection to our back 4 than this gives. --------------------------Cesar----------------------- Dyer---------------M'bia-----------Nelson-------Traore ----------------Granero---------Faurlin--------------- -------Cisse-------------Taarabt-------------Hoillett ----------------------------Zamora---------------
I like your version col. We're at home and under the floodlights. Good attacking options and solid in defence. Traore would be a better option at L/B as he should be fit to return according to this.............. http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php ( Most injured players in the Prem? ) Would also prefer Adel to Park as Park offers nothing creative on the left other than a workman like performance.
Every Ex West Ham player is bound to score against us, (Like Defoe or Bowyer, etc) Dyer odds-on to get a hat trick (Him at RB?! )
Yeh I agree, we seem to go for about the same players Col, apart from Park playing wide left. As Nines said too, having M'bia or maybe Diakite CDM should make us more solid at the back, and there is more offensive potential than with SWP and Park in wide midfield positions which seems to be Hughes favourite presently - over cautious for me. I hope Traore is fit, as both him and Dyer are good at getting forward on the flanks - had this much in mind in the first of the 2 formations I put up.
You right! Derry doesn't exactly meet the fast requirement! But maybe he is better at just sitting there and not getting caught up field than the other 2. I look forward to seeing M'bia play - I have only heard how he plays, and really hope he can do jobs for us as CD or in central defensive midfield - we really need that.
No need to change too much from the Chelsea and Spurs line-ups IMO. We desperately need a settled XI and formation and if we play anything like we did at White Hart Lane we'll win far more than we lose. The most important player is Zamora. Cisse either can't or won't play that role with any discipline.
I would rather have Park on the RW and put Hoilett over on the left because I think Hoilett can cross with his left.
I was thinking that too. Couldn't be arsed to keep putting down different alternatives. Park was only in my team if Taarabt isn't fit anyway.
