More of the same? Larsson out for a month so he's out of contention anyway. But what about Defoe, if he is fit reckon SA will find a way for him to play, so who drops out? Also same question as last week Yedin or Jones? No idea on the Catts situation.
If fit, Defoe has to start, he is the best finisher we have. Yelling at full back, we need pace against Watford attack. This is a must win game
Thought I read somewhere that Catts injury is not improving and he will miss the Watford match, why not stick Jones in his spot as Watford always play two up front, help out the back three.
Same formation as past few games. Jones in for Yedlin. Think Defoe has to play instead of Borini/Watmore. Not sure I like Toivonen CM next to M'Vila so I'd consider Gomez/Rowell if Catts is out.
No Cats is the main worry , never thought I would say that tbh. We also seem to have a habit of loosing key players over the 24 hours prior to a game, which makes it a bit awkward for us armchair managers. However I am sure we have enough to get us through this one and am hoping for a win, whoever Sam picks . I would love, just once, to see the real Jack Rodwell.
According to the Echo he's taken a knock in training and is a doubt for Saturday Who would have thought we would be upset at having him missing a match a month into the season, fortunes in football turn around so quickly.
The dropouts are starting early this week, keeping my fingers crossed for SC, JoS, YK and M'V as they are irreplaceable in the team atm, the rest can be covered, only just.
Fletcher was kicked twice at arsenal no the wonder !, Defoe and Watmore if he is out, Yedlin was very good at Arsenal, as was every player. The bookies make us one of the favourites to go down, pathetic , when every player is back fit we will move up the league no bother plus a couple of signings 15th I reckon.
Fletcher took a knock in training today. **** all to do with Arsenal get back inside and watch scooby doo.
-----------Pantilimon-------------- ------Coates-Oshea-Kaboul------- Jones-------------------------PVA -----------Mvila-Gomez---------- -------------Toivonen------------- ----------Borini--Defoe-----------
Pants Coates------O'Shea------Kaboul Yedlin---------------------------------------PVA M'Vila----------Ola Watmore Fletch/Borini------------Defoe I think the back three has proved solid enough to give Watmore a free role.
The curse struck again, Sam's plan A did not work, as BJ is no replacement for any of the back three, but is a decent left back, and the team looked a lot better after the substitution, with plan B, so if we are at full strength for the next three games revert to 3 4 3 and I think we will do OK, if we loose any of our first choice back three we should revert to 4 3 3 from the start and hope for the best, JR looked decent second half and we really are in a position at the moment of having to hope he can do a job if he is needed, ideally we may not need him but its touch and go with only one decent holding player in YMV at the club. So is it a case of cometh the hour cometh the man?
Ha, yeah mate, I thought he had a really good game yesterday. I would probably say that our best three players yesterday were the three substitutes! If Rodwell plays at that level every week, he starts.
