Riyad Mahrez is highly unlikely to play after sulking and going AWOL. Wes Morgan could return and everyone else is fit and avalible. So here is what I would go with

    Schmeichel

    Simpson
    Dragovic
    Maguire
    Fuchs

    Gray
    Ndidi
    Silva
    Albrighton

    Vardy
    Okazaki

Subs- Hamer, Morgan, Chilwell, Iborra, James, Diabate, Iheanacho

Doubt we would go with this, but I would like to see this:

    Schmeichel
    Dragovic, Maguire, Fuchs
    Albrighton,Iborra, Silva, Ndidi, Chilwell
    Okazaki
    Vardy

    Schmeichel

    Amartey Dragovic Maguire Chilwell

    James N’didi

    Gray Okazaki Albrighton

    Vardy

It’s been working so well so might as well give it another go despite one bad week

Amartey done nothing wrong for me - so I'd be very surprised if he didn't even make the squad <yikes>

    So starting ...

    Schmeichel
    Amartey Dragovic Maguire Fuchs
    Iborra Silva N’didi
    Gray Vardy Diabate

Might be temped to switch Amartey for Simpson if hes fully fit, will be interesting to see if Chilwell loses his place because of his error.

Wouldn't change from the team that played midweek unless fitness is an issue.

Felt that Iheanacho and Diabate had decent performances from the bench, so maybe all these strikers out on loan was the correct decision.

If everyone is fit bar Morgan where is Huth? Our savior in the great escape and under rated rock in prem winning team. Dragovic has been solid but if Huth is fit he is in for me.

Ndidi has the ball in the net but it's ruled out for an offside against Diabate 10 minutes earlier!

Diabate, ndidi, iheanacho and vardy had good day. Overall the team did well without yer man. Up for it. Bit disapointing result but it shows that nobody is irreplaceable

Absolutely Martin ... Mahrez also isn't to blame for the poor defending that has undone us in the last 2 games ... although he is for the undoubted disruption to some extent ... City and the timing of their bid is the major factor ... not impressed by their conduct <grr>

I really didnt understand Puel’s subs yesterday

Taking Iheanacho off was a mistake. And to take Silva off for James? James slows the play down too much when your pushing for a goal. Should have brought Iborra on as he would have added another ariel threat

And then Shinji should have been on much earlier

Man City did nothing wrong with the timing. They bid within the window

What the need to realise though bidding that late means you have to pay over the odds at times or at very least at his market value

Your not getting a bargain a day before the window shuts are you. Had they made their bid on the 1st Jan im sure over the month we would have eventually came to an agreement but not at the money they offered

Too true, and Mahrez would have had time to realise how serious Man City were for him if they had a bit more time to think the whole saga through. If they were serious they might still have upped their offer to a point where we'd have acccepted, as it is time ran out and mahrez just sees us as being stubborn. If Mahrez wasn't just a replacement for Sane while he's injured then why didn't they come in earlier?

Like we the Drinkwater saga. It went on for ages and we stood firm despite him spitting his dummy out. We had 2 conditions, when was they met the asking price which Chelsea eventually did. And the other was we wouldnt sell until we had a replacement sorted which we kind of did with Adrien Silva. We just ****ed that bit up

Man City’s offer was a pure panic bid. Yes they want Mahrez but do they WANT Mahrez. I dont think they do

Pep commented that they had also enquired about Mahrez in the summer ... but we'e told, no way... so I think they have genuine interest in the lad ...

If Riyad really wants a move there he should swallow his disappointment and rip it up for the rest of the season ....

Personally I think we should offer Mahrez a new contract. Extend his contract with a year or 2 but insert a £75M buy out clause

That way if no one pays it we have Mahrez under better terms

And for Mahrez if someone produces the money he gets his move and the club are powerless

    Surely would suit all parties
