In his press conference today Slavi was all about onwards and forwards. No mention of transfers - in or out - and he declined to comment on Jozabed. And no mention about the team line-up other than that everyone was available, apart from Ryan Fredericks. Have to assume that he will not change a side that had confidence in each other against Newcastle: ......................Button.............. ..Odoi........Kalas....Madl....Malone.... ...........McDonald...Tunnicliffe... ....Cairney.......Aluko..........Ayite... ...................Smith....
Actually think you will beat us tomorrow, for those coming by train book a later train time back given the time wasting you did last season, sadly won't be there but enjoy the game but hopefully not the result
If we can play like we did last week then we will win this one. Preston looked like they put out a strong side midweek and struggled. Would be so good if we could win this one too.
Given the timing of Jozabed's announcement by the Club, you'd assume he was registered by 12 noon and therefore eligible to play tomorrow. Also loads of photos of him training. Will he play? Interestingly in his introductory interview on the Offical Site Joza said, “I play anywhere in the center of midfield or slightly forward. Last year I played in a more attacking role, just behind the striker. It was new for me and I did well, and scored a few goals." If his more normal role is deeper and since we've already got Cairney and Aluko in the No.10 role, will he be the man to play next to McDonald?
Think Jokanovic has to pick the same team as Newcastle. Try to get some consistency. Don't changed a winning team till you have too.
Same team as Newcastle for me, they played well won and all had mid week off..... Deserve a chance to get us another 3 points. For info I went on the Preston forum after our 5-0 pre season win and although you can't read to much into pre season score lines a lot of the comments were interesting a lot about same old problem severe lack of pace in the team hasn't been addressed, will struggle again. Maybe a coincidence but we add lots of pace to our squad, they apparently lack pace and we win 5-0.
The man in charge today is Mr Adcock please log in to view this image One of the youngest James went on the National Register in 2011/12 and follows in his father's footsteps. His real job is as a PE teacher in Sutton and he says he's "glad the school are so understanding". They must be very accommodating since he has also participated in the PGMO exchange programme which enable referees to gain experience of different football cultures and has ref'd games in America, Japan, China, Iceland and Denmark. It's even steven with one apiece between us and PNE for games he's ref'd. He last did us in the 1-1 home draw against Huddersfield in Aug 2015 and yellow carded Tom Cairney for arguing with a Huddersfield player. For Preston it was in a home 2-1 win over Charlton in February 2016 when he booked three players and sent off a Charlton player. Last season he ref'd a meagre 31 games dishing out 70 yellows and that 1 red.
One change - Parker for Tunnicliffe. Some weren't convinced by Tunnicliffe against Newcasle and perhaps the Gaffer similar. Personally not entirely convinced about Parker and McDonald but let's wait and see. The bench is also much the same; Sessegnon coming in for Edun (and, obviously, Tunncliffe instead of Parker). Still no Bettinelli although he was said to be fit.
Sixteen years since we've won our first two League games. Good first half when it should have been sorted. Corners x3 = Penalty (disallowed)... Goal ... Goal (disallowed). Stuck with it in the second and Matt Smith the winner for two weeks in a row. 2-1 settle for that.

Yesssss!! Nothing better than coming home from a long days work on a Saturday to see we won.... If we were to win on Tuesday I will start getting very excited lol
Link to a better and fuller set of highlights - no longer on YouTube with the advent of FulhamfcTV. http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2016/august/14/preston-match-action A few observations: * Should McDonald get an assist for our first goal? * What the heck was wrong with the Smith goal that got disallowed? * Fantastic run by Cairney for our second but impressed by McDonald being right with him and still having the nouse to direct other players.
Yup, 16 years rosc. Season 2000/01 under you know who. Those two games were against Crewe and B'ham. Say this very quietly .. we won our first 11 games that season, totalled 101 pts and got promoted.
