Frei has apparently recovered from his knock and there are no new injury worries. However, I think Jol's starting line up will be unchanged from last week - ........ Schwarzer Riether.. Hughes.. Hangeland.. Riise ......Diarra...... Dembele ..Duff... ..Ruiz..... Kacaniklic ...........Petric
Looks good to me - we need to really have a go at them - nothing to loose. On a separate note - has the formatting of the forum changed? - seems big on my PC at the moment.
Looks the same on my PC... And yeah, I can't see any reason why we would change the lineup from last week.
I think anyone who got dropped after last week would have grounds to feel very hard done by! No one should expect a first team place as of right, but to make unforced changes after a 5-0 win where everybody played well seems hard to defend. That said, I'd be glad to see Frei added to the bench, and Clint too once his head is right.
Perhaps they thought they had better go to a bigger font as all our eyes are playing up as we have been staring in disbelief at the league table for most of the week!!!
Only possibility might be to sacrifice an attacking player for Sidwell to give the midfield a bit more bite, but I can't see the sense in changing a side that's just won 5-0 if everyone's fit. As for my comment on another threat that this could be a good time of year to play Man Utd, the stats don't really back that up. On three previous meetings in August we've lost two away (3-2 - first game after promotion, and 5-1) and drawn one at home (2-2, Captain Ambition's first home game in charge). We have never won our first two games of a Premier League season.
...until now? We can find as many reasons to be optimistic as to be pessimistic on this one. And as I've said countless time, games against the really big boys are pressure-free games: everyone expects us to lose, so anything we get is a bonus. Attack attack attack!
Frei has, unfortunately, been ruled out after all. Pity would have been good to see him running at a tired back four in the last 30 minutes.
